Thirty of the thirty-three pupils who started as Freshnmen last year came back this year. Our new class sponsor is Mr. McBride. - The election of officers was held during the first week of school. They are: Lawrence Wells, presidentj Billiette Stauffer, vice-president: Betty Gerbers, sec- retaryg and Melvin Delagrange, treasurer. We began our social activities with a wiener roast at the home of Corinne Wetter. Nearly all of the boys were active in softball, basketball and volleyball. With Bob Stafford and Bob Arnos back on the basketball team after being out due to an ac- cident and illness respectively, the Sophomore boys defeated first the Freshmen and then the Seniors to win the class basketball tournament. The girls also had a basketball team, but were defeated in a close game by the Seniors. 113-141. Q The Sophomores entertained the Freshmen with a party at the Legion Home. Kay Moser led the group in games and folk dances. Since the boys won the class tournament, the girls entertained them with a party held at the home of Lawrence Wells. To our disappointment, we lost Charles Tackles, Catherine and Erwin Bellis from our class. They will be missed. , 'ry A x' . Q55 .- 5 sr, f I 1 ir'
