ENGLISH-2 The name of the second year English club was The Eccretian Club . The officers were elected every six weeks. They were a chalrman a secretary and a committee of three chosen by the chairman to plan the weekly programs Many lnteresting programs have been put on before the class on Frxdays Some entertaining ones were Lochxnvar ln panto mine an Irlsh program ln honor of St Patricks Day and sev eral acts taken from the Tale of Two Citles which were acted out A two act comedy entitled Up to Freddxe was put on before the Student Body Among the greatest accomplxshments of the class was the Solphie Annual publxshed by the club as has been the traditlon ot the Sophomore Lngllsh Class to edit a mlnature annual THE URCHLS 1 RA The Orchestra played an actxve part ID the school entertaln ments this year Since thxs was the second year the orchestra has been organxzed as a regular subject most of the muslcians are begxnners The Whltemans Sympathy Orchestra as it was called for that occasxon made ltS fxrst appearance rn pubhc at the Woodlesque played at a few shows several assembly meet ings and Operetta the Musical and other social affairs The orchestra organmed the Harmonla Society ln order th tt those lntexested in the study of muslc mxght take up work that they did not have time for at school Members not ln the Orches tra were asked to joln and enJoy the good tlmes The club met on the last Tuesday of esexy month at the varmous homes The muslcal lprograms usually conslsted or xnstrumental and vocal solos and duets lectures surprise numbers musical games and musical eats Offlcers were elected each semester as follows First Semester Second Semester Vice President Bennet Wilson lla Musson Secretary Lloyd Wacaser Emma Davis Reporter Bennett Wilson IHE 11 IL1BUSl ERS hvery Frlday the Fxlibusters met fox their weekly program Phe ambltlon was to develop more interest ID Current Events History and Parlimentary Law The p1o1,rams were arranged by the program manager glving each an opportunity to be on at least three programs during the six weeks A program critic was appointed by the Presldent at each meetlng to cnticlze speaker .. . 7 ! - 5 I - 1 ' - ll ' 'I . , . . .
