I EAN A. KENNI SON Mathematics, Physics B. A. , Brooklyn College M. A. , Brooklyn College Surveying the gleaming list of Mr. Stephenson's characteristics, one is met immediately with the cheerful manner, earnest outlook, and often impish regard that lurk behind the door of the lab. Mr. Stephenson treats his students fparticularly those who walk the thorn-strewn path of Chemistryj with an understanding attitude that makes it seem not half so bad . All this, of course, is accomplished with a cherubic ' countenance and smile that seldom fades. Biology and Chemistry wouldn't have been the same with- out him. We doubt they'll be the same hereafter. I0 When it comes to mathematic dyna- mos and numerical geniuses, Mrs. Ken- nison is the real McCoy. I-Iow simple those algebraic equations seem when she's scribbling them out on the black- board at a speed that must surely approach that of light! Underneath the scholarly aura, Mrs. Kennison is genuine. Gen- uine what? Saint must be the answer. judging from the kindly way she greets our impetuosity and hairbrained mathe- matical reasoning. MARGARET W. AUSTIN French. Latin B. A. . Albany State University Who among us doubts that the Class of '65 was Mrs. Monaco's most prominent headache? None- theless, in her two years of associa- tion with our class, Mrs. Monaco has proved to be an understanding and dependable friend and teacher. Furthermore, if we don't know how to write a critique now, we never will. It certainly isn't Mrs. Mon- aco's fault for not trying to teach us! Mrs. Austin has long served us well in her capacity as a French teacher. She seemed, somehow, to accelerate the steep climb from par1ez-vous francais? to existen- tialist readings from Sartre in the original French. More recently, Mrs. Austin has been helpful as our homeroom teacher and yearbook advisor. She was also a realistic inhibitor where some of our wilder schemes were concerned. Her patience was amazing! GRACE GATES Physical Education B. S. S. , Hunter College Through our years here, everyone has been brought close to Mrs. Gates. Either in psychology with its personal overcast, or in gym with all the exercises and games, her genuine interest could not remain hidden. How much we all enjoyed digging down in- to our personalities and those of our friends! Mrs. Gates always made our classes less work and more fun . Winn- THOMAS MONACO History A. B. , Franklin and Marshall College Mr. Monaco, new to Woodhull this year, has well proved his dedication and interest inboth his regu- lar classes and the boys' gym. Never before has any- one shown such great effort in shaping up and perfect- ing the various teams. Mr. Monaco instilled in them both a new sense of team-work and enthusiasm that we are sure will not soon fade. MYNDERT HUEGEL English, History B.A. , Hunter College M.A. , Fordham University Show us the class where 'the conflicts are greater, de- bates more heated, and issues argumentative, - and we'll show you Mrs. Huegel's classes. From Fresh- man English to American History, Mrs. Huegel has always had lively classes. Whether the student liked the subject or not, it was hard not to learn from her colorful interpretation of the facts.
