Editor? Message From our first awkward days as freshmen we, the Class of 1963, have exhibited peculiar and particular traits. These characteristics have been carefully sifted by Woodhull. Some have been nurtured: others - less desirable, have been nipped while in the bud. Consequently we possess the healthy individuality that makes for strength and unity of purpose, the ability and desire to achieve a common objective. Objectives, however, should be milestones only. For life is a succession of hopes and preparations. While our goal has been reached for the present, what is it we have gained? I would say the development of a more stable outlook for the trials that are yet to come. It is with sadness, some trepidation and yet an eager confidence that we close this chapter of our lives and begin a new one - one which depends on the strong foundation we have built here. Dedication It is with affection and deep esteem that we dedicate our Yearbook to Mrs. Margaret Austin. Since we were frightened freshmen, she has taken a genuine interest in our progress. In our early struggle through Julius Caesar in sophomore English, she proved an excellent guide. Extracurricular roadblocks were somehow or other made passable by her advice, toler- ance and perception. We hope she will keep us in her mind and in her heart and that the years ahead will give her cause to feel pride in us. The so-called teen-age temperament was no mystery to Mrs. Austin. She flattered us by an adult approach and we reacted as adults. If we hadn't, we knew we should have. This awareness of grown-up behavior brought a wonderful new dimension into focus. No longer the easy quip as the solution to a problemg no longer the juvenile shrug of the shoulder. Instead this meant that the probing mind took seed and before long the thrill and satisfaction of maturity were ours. We wish Mrs. Austin well. She has been a warm and a wise friend.
