Sponsors And Sabre Club The Sabre Club is composed of Wooddale's ROTC officers and the sponsors. This year the clulfs proj- ect was to send Christmas packages to needy families. The club did an outstanding job in this project. The sponsors drilled every Fri- day with the boys and they were entered in competition with the ROTC sponsors from all the other schools in Memphis. Mrs. Barnes and Major Sperry are faculty sponsors.

First place trophies . . . half-time shows . . . white bearskin hats . . . hula hoops excellent performances . . . all of these can be associated with Wooddale's drill team, the Sabrettes. Under the direction of Miss Hewes and the leadership of Cindy Miller, this group of thirty girls did a fine job of marching. They performed in the half- time shows at every football game and one basketball game. Also they spon- sored a charity project. Books were col- lected and donated to St. Peter's Or- phanage. How proudly they performed for us and for others. And how proudly we watched them achieve victory after victory. Hail, Sabrettes. 66

The W Club is for all athletes who earn a letter in any sport. Among their projects this year was selling place mats to make money for the club, and they sponsored a basketball shoot at Open House. They made it possible for the picture of the football team to be placed in the hall, and they sponsored the Football Banquet and the Spring Ban- quet. OFFICERS President ............
