'l'erri's radi- ant and surprised smile as she is crowned the 1970 Cardinal Queen . . . the car caravans to our football games at Halle Stadium . . . winning times . . . times of happiness and spirit . . . spirit revealed in our clown and boy cheerleaders during the homecoming game . . . it is easy to have spirit whenyou are winning . . . what really shows the true spirit ofa school is if it can still have riotous good-humored spirit when it is los- ing . . . there were losing times . . . worried frowns from the football players on the bench . . . the Wooddale-Sheffield fac- ulty basketball game . . . 1971 senior high cheerleaders on May Day, covered with whipped cream but still smiling . . . track events on May Day when everyone can't be the victor . . . a true winner is one who can accept defeat good- humoredly. -1- Il
