Social Studies Linking The Past And Present Wooddale offers many courses to help develop an understanding of the cultural heritage of the United States, Western Civilization, and the world in gener- al. The Social Studies courses include: American History, Government, Economics, and World Histo- ry. A new program at Wooddale combines American History and eleventh grade English. The study of these related subjects has been proved very effective. These courses develop an understanding of the students' own city, county, state, and nationg geo- graphically and socially, as it exists today. As a re- sult, these courses develop an understanding of the responsibilities of citizens working together in a democratic society.
