To the class of 1968 go my congratula- tions upon the successful completion of your high school careers, and best wishes in what- ever you have selected for the future. For some students your high school di- ploma completes your formal education, while for others it is just the beginning of the long hard road. Your education has not all been gained from books or from lectures, but a great deal of it has been developed in the form of habits, attitudes, and interests. Thus, upon these attitudes, habits, and inter- ests, many of your decisions will be based. It is very important that for your own devel- opment: educational, social, emotional, physi- cal, and spiritual, that when you have to make a decision, evaluate the total situation before you make your decision. Good luck in the future! Allen Seney Guidance Director TO THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1968: It has been said that our world becomes smaller and smaller. Modern technology proves this to us every day. The globe can be travelled in a matter of hours, the world of outer-space is becoming a familiar environmentg and underwater explora- tion presents new challenges for the mind of man. You, the graduates of 1968, are stepping into a world-society rent by conHict. The revolutions and social disorders both in our own country and throughout the world present problems whose solutions will determine the future of our demo- cratic society and that of all free men. Upon graduation you will become more a part of this world and will have a greater responsibility to contribute to the resolutions of its problems. H. F. Wells said after World War I that Human history becomes more and more a race between education and catastrophe. These words ring ever so true today and so well characterize the conditions of modern day society. It is our hope that Woodbury High School has succeeded in preparing you, at least in part, for this society and that, whatever you do in future years, you will always be true to the ideals of this great country.
