To the class of 1961: I wish to thank the members of the class of 1961 for their help in establishing an educational climate in the Woodbury High School which recognizes the real values of intellectual growth and achievement. At one time high academic achievement by an individual was frowned upon by others. Today, however, high achievement is accepted as a worthwhile goal by most students. I can attribute part of this change to the graduating class. The class of 1961 includes six students who have been recognized in the National Merit Scholarship program. This fact in itself is less important than the fact that the members of this class as a whole have developed a curiosity about ideas and have found enjoyment in intellectual pursuits.
