WIDE AWAKE Photography Editor Business Manager Business Manager Art Editor........ Typing Editor..... DOUG BARNO REVERE FERRIS GEORGE PLATT BEV BEHM LINDA BUNKER Advisor............................ MISS TIDMARSH Editor-in-Chief................... PHYLLIS BONNER Assistant Editor.................................JON DUNLAP We, the class of 1959, dedicate the Wide Awake of 1959 to a man whom we have known and respected throughout our years in Woodbury High School. For two years he acted as our class advisor and gave his time and help unselfishly; often burdening himself with responsibilities that few would undertake. He has been more than just an advisor, for he is our friend, willing to offer help and advice to anyone. Several of us have gone to him with a problem and have walked away with a solution. This, we feel, is the very least the class of 1959 can do to show our sincere appreciation to a true friend. This is our way of saying, Thank you, Mr. Arminio.” Sealed, from left to right: Mr. Griswold, Mr. Lawton, Dr. McLaughlin, Mrs. Mackay, Dr. Rehkamp, Dr. Lovett, Mr. Sherwood, Mr. Wadsworth, and Mr. Wylie. ADMINISTRATION It is indeed strange that man has found it easier to split the atom than to agree on atomic bomb tests, to break the sound barrier than to agree on freedom of the skies, and to probe outer space than to agree on the use of satellites and missiles. Man’s knowledge and understanding of his environment has progressed at a much faster rate than his ability to sit down with his fellow man and agree on the uses and restrictions of such knowledge. A few of you in the class of 1959 may be employed in projects which will help man further his knowledge of his environment. On the other hand all of you will be involved in making decisions concerning man’s use of this knowledge. We, the faculty of Woodbury High School, hope that the decisions you help make will be made only after you know the facts and carefully weigh the possible results of your decisions. I take this opportunity to wish you the best of luck in any endeavor you may undertake in the future.
