He lived most of his life in Woodburn. Tom attended Woodburn schools and graduated in June with the class of '65. Tom was killed July 7, 1965, near Hubbard when his motorcycle collided with an automobile. He is buried at Sacred Heart cemetery, Gervais. emoriam Dennis A. Winn was born October 3, 1945 in Nebraska. Dennis attended Woodburn schools until the fourth grade. A victim of muscular dystrophy, he continued his education through private tutoring and a school to home telephone communication system. He graduated in June with the class of '65. Dennis died June 20, 1965 in Hoquiam, Washington as a result of his disease. He is buried in Belle Passi cemetery, Woodburn. All are in the upper half of their class, scholastically, and active in school affairs. KAS members usher at plays, band and choral concerts, and Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises. Character Leadership . Secretary cnational jfonor ociety The National Honor Society is a national organization to promote character, leadership, service, and scholarship. Since only 1575 of the senior class is eligible, N. H. S. is a very select club. Students are selected in the spring ot their junior year by the faculty. Members have a GPA of higher than a 3.00. N. H. S. stands as a symbol of learning which strives to promote educational develop- ment among students. F.T.A. is an organization of students interested in teaching as a possible career. Students may loin anywhere from their sophomore year to their senior year,and it they qualify, may participate in the cadet-teaching program where they are allowed to work one period a day at one ofthe grade schools or at the junior high. There are two main events during each year. They are the state and regional meetings. This year there is also a get together for all members of F.T.A. from schools in this area. A. one must be interested in a business career. To become a member of the club one must be taking a commercial course such as typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, or office practice or previously completed one of these courses. Some of the year's activities sponsored by F. B. L. A. were two banquets, held in con- iunction with the B. P. W. Club of Woodburn. Members attend the state convention in Corvallis which was April 9-lO. F. B. L. Membership is open to any girl willing to support the Bulldogs. Members sold pop and candy at games and acted as hostesses at the wrestling tournament.
