To start things off in the fall, they played for our football pep assemblies, and boosted both team and the rooters. At Christmas time the Band Parents sponsored a party. Games were played and refreshments were served. Bob Nathman and Paul Boomer participated in a doll-dressing contest, Bob being victorious. Everyone had a good time, and lots of laughs. When basketball season came along, the band was there at the pep assemblies again, and also at the games, giving the song leaders some support. E. Donald ,Iessop directs this active group, who, in the Spring will go to a State Music Contest. They will also give their annual Spring Concert. Our Freshman year was full of excitement as we joined the school activities. We started off by sponsoring two booths in the Letterman Carnival. Two of our freshman boys, Vic Belleque and Bill Bishoprick, received their letters in baseball. Shannon Blomberg and Florence Rice were chosen to represent our class as May Princesses. As Sophomores we started out the year with more confidence. This year our booths in the Letterman Carnival were a big success as we netted the most money. At the first Home- coming at the new high school we elected Shannon Blomberg as sophomore princess. The spring of the year saw us sponsoring our first dance--- the Levi Leap. ' For May Day Princesses we elected Judy Bonacker and Ruth Christensen. As Juniors we took a big step forward as we became upper classmen and sponsored our Junior class play, The Groom Said No. Our big event of the year was our Junior-Senior Prom. Under the theme Stardust our gym took on a heavenly appearance. Our Junior Homecoming princess was Sharon Johnson. At May DayTamaraMajors and Barbara Blevans represented the Junior class. In the athletic field our boys were really busy this year. In football Vic Belleque was on the first strin All Star Team and Gerald Livingston and Dick Beaty placed on the second string. Our ,Iunior boys made up half of our basketball team which became co-champions of the Capitol Conference League. In the first year of wrest- ling at Woodburn High, Dick Beaty placed third in the District Meet. Four Juniors played on the baseball team, which also became champi- ons of the league. Having worked together for three years, by our Senior year we were a well or anized class. For Homecoming we elected Sueen Barbara Blevans and Crown Princess Sharon Johnson. We put on our Senior Play in the Sprin isee page 56.l As Seniors we elected a May Sueen ad' two Crown Princesses from our class. You will find these on pages 58-59. All in all our four years at Woodburn High have been happy and memorable ones. Our achieve- ments have been many, and we hope we are now ready to accept our new responsibilities. We would like to thank our class advisors, teachers, and parents for their patience and help throughout the years. lAlll'lS lil.AfIK WINA Nl'il.SflN Student Council Advisor CUHIJON l4liIi'l'Nl'ili Advisor XXII I IXXI IIISIIIIIUIIIIK SHANNON III ,OXIIIICRG RICHARD BEATY JAMES IBLACK RICHARD BJELLAND FRANIx BOILN ,gf VICTOR BELLEQUE BARBARA BLEVANS SHARON BOGGS JUDITH BONACKER RUTH BUHR RUTH CHRISTENSEN STANLEY CARTER BETTY BURT EDWARD COMAN CLARA CHAPELLE VIOLET FREDERICKSON JOAN JACKSON THEODORE CREASON DUANE FULPS ARLENE FICEK JAMES HALTER SHARON JOHNSON JERRY HALTER TERRANCE LEDER TAMARA MAJ OHS MA R Y ANN KETTNER PAUL KOWASH GLEN LIVESAY JOAN LINSCOTT LYLE NELSON GERALD LIVINGSTON JIM PARKS FLORENCE RICE DIANA OBRIST .IANICE REILING JUDITH REED MARLY SEELY WENDY PARGETER JAMES REIS LAURE'I'l'A STEELE ALLAN WA NTZ 68 CHARLENE SHANER LEON SPRAUER KEL LY TIMM JAMES THOR PE RUSSELL YODER PAUL WADSWORTH 'NY' ,,,f'.- -zbf .,.-1:...,.,. in 3 Qs 'x.
