Wohiscan Woodburn, Oregon 1954 To The Students of Woodburn High School Woodbum, Oregon Dear Students: I would like to introduce you to 5' 6 , dark- haired, brown-eyed, Mary Yuranek, who has been a member of G. L. C. and Boosters. She has repre- sented you as May Princess, Song and Yell Leaders and in many other activities. and This is 6' 2 , blonde, and blue-eyed Jerry Plank. He is a member of Na- and Band. He has been your King of ball, and baseball teams. You elected .lerry and Mary as the typical boy and girl of our high school. The annual, this year, is based on the every-day happenings of this high school. Through the eyes of Mary and .lerry you will see the student body at work and at play. They will be your guide through the school year from the day of registration to the very latest activities in the spring. Although l am presenting this annual as seen through the eyes of your representa- tives, I realize that without the aid and cooperation of every student and faculty member, this annual could never have been possible. For that reason I am happy to dedicate this year's WOHISCAN to the STUDENTS OF WOODBURN HIGH SCHOOL The Editor, n Qg ,xdf C' mg: S X qv , Sharon Guthrie tional Honor Society, letterman, K. A. S. We were introduced to the new Woodburn High School hy the Class of '51 which honored us with a reception. At the Homecoming two of the Princesses were from our class, Mary Yuranek and .lane McGrath. When May Day rolled around Mary Yuranek and Jane McGrath were elected Freshman Princesses. April Showers was the theme of our sophomore dance and our May Princesses were Mary Yuranek and Sheila Fitch. We really began to work in our ,lunior year when we put on our class play, the Inner Willy which was very successful. We honored the Class of '53 by presenting the annual Junior-Senior Prom where couples danced down the Street of Dreams . Our May Princesses were Joanne Schmid and Kerin Magnuson. As Seniorslwe put on another successful play, One Foot in Heaven . We also attended a Prom given to us by the Class of '55, For this year's May Queen and Crown Princesses tum to pages 42 and 43. Our advisor throughout the four years was Mr. Alf Nelson and he was joined by Mr. Lester Keller our Senior year. Yes, the Class of '54 has had its ups and downs, but it still looks back on many wonderful memories.
