ROYALTY The Junior-Senior Banquet was held on April 26 in the Lutheran Church basement in Wood River. The theme was “Indian Pow Wow.” The banquet room was colorfully decorated with orange, brown, green, and yellow crepe paper and self-made Indian decorations. The program at the church consisted of the welcome speech by a shy Indian maiden, Rose- mary Rainforth, and the response was given by Heap Tall Brother, Lyle Brotherton. Heap Big Chief Supt. Youngquist, also gave a talk, Pass the Peace Pipe.” A duet, Pale Moon” was sung by DeEtta Hofrichter and Mary Hayse, accompanied by Mrs. Darrel Hart. The waiters and waitresses sang Pretty Red Wind.” Immediately following the banquet, a Prom was held in the new gymnasium of the school. Lee Ann Jacobs was crowned Queen and Jim Jantzi was crowned King. Their attendants were Lynne Brannon and Lanny McLey. After the crowning, Charles Mead sang a solo, Martha Bohnart played an Accordion solo, and Ann Davis and Marcia Smith gave a dance routine. So far, this has been our busiest year, the ordering of our class rings, and gening ready for the Junior- Senior Banquet held on April 26, 1956, two big events in the lives of all Juniors.
