We have turned to the faculty for help many times in our four years of high school and will always keep their advice in mind as we struggle for a successful future. Now that the terrible turmoil of the war has ended, many of us will be able to attain the goal of which we have long dreamed. Under the leadership of our generation we will strive to obtain a peaceful world for the generations that will follow us. Qui' high school days, the small fraction of our lives that they are, will remain with us forever. GRACE WEBSTER 4 S XX X!!! ARCHERY This year we not only have the male members of Wood-Ridge High in the sports spotlight-but we also have the fairer sex. And what have our girls been so busy training and practising for? . . . the Inter-School Archery Touma- ment held each year at Feronia Park, New Jersey. All the high schools with Archery on their schedule compete and the average number of schools entering is twelve or thirteen. In 1943 our first attempt brought us into tenth place. Our second try in 1944 advanced us two places and we came in eighth. Last year, 1945, B. Brandenburg, M. Hans and H. Andrews each attended for their second year, and in addition was a new archer, G. Webster. After they had done their best the only natural thing would be another improvement, so-we came in sixth. For the two years, 1944 and 1945, that Manha Hans has been competing at the toumament she has been outstandingfeach time she was high scorer out of our four girls attending and this year she was given the honor of being captain. Martha has received awards and a pin Qwhich she is seen sporting aroundj for her out- standing abilities. 48 mm-Egg how bi EOE MONSWEO :iw Hamm L WC EEE HBUMGU OO-M mi EE E E02 wc M-OEW E CWM OOA mi EE aw 02- WC EEE no A523 EOE mwmg U CSC: ww OC mr- EE an Ea om N :N 9353!
