After many nights of exhausting labor and the occurrence of sundry mi- nor diasters concerning decorations, the long awaited night of the prom had arrived. Torrents of rain forced formal gowned belles to scurry about with their crushed-velvet jacketed beaux under coats and umbrellas. Ev- erything we had done in the preceding weeks and months seemed to have been worthwhile in the 1972 Grand March. Old favorites were played during the prom staged in the gymnasium decorated in South Pacifici' style complete with a natural spring, palm trees, and candle lanterns. All of the lanterns, most of the tablecloths, and even some of the palm trees were gone by the end of the prom. After a change of clothes, everyone returned to the post-prom where a midnight supper was being served. Louisville,' played exciting popular favorites for dancing. The 1972 prom Imagine was an evening never to be forgotten by the class of 1973.
