artists show their talents b their creations Two of the most creative outlets of- fered to student were Art and Music Classes. Whether their talent meant de- signing paper mobiles, transforming cop- per into mod jewelry, sketching or paint- ing, teens were made aware ofthe ability necessary for artistic creation. Beginning art students learned the basic shapes, color schemes, lighting, and numerous other in- tricate but vital items of artistic know- how. Advanced studies encouraged and developed originality and interested stu- dents in any of several possible careers, ranging from interior decoration, fashion design and sculpturing, to commercial artistry and advertising. James Guillaume, Art Department Head encourage students to enter both Scholastic and 500 Festival Art Contest. Entertainment is one of the many pur- poses ofthe Music Department headed by Mrs. Mary Zenor. During the Christmas season, choral groups performed on the Circle, for the Downtown Lion's Club, in church's and in school. All money raised through band activi- ties, has gone for the purchasing of new uniforms. The band, along with other musical groups performed in the Fall Fes- tival,Christmas programs,and the All City Band Contest. LOWER-That extra time of practicing will pay off for Debbie Spacke. Knowledge gained from basic classes General Business, Business Math, Typing, and Business Law enabled pupils to try the advanced subjects of Shorthand, Basic Data Processing, and On-The-Job training LOWER LEFT-Income taxes isjust one of the areas David Gobble is taught by Mr. Donald Vornholt in Industrial Cooperative Training, programs. Cooperative Office Education, Dis- tributive Education, and Industrial Coop- erative Training opened to the students the world of work as well as classroom train- ing. Making it possible for many students to earn money while applying their skills on-the-job training also provided students who desire e m pl o y m e nt following graduation with jobs.
