Probin minds explore modern sclenoe Science seminars, field trips, experi- ments,and the return of Mr. Boris Chaleff, Department Head, highlighted the year for the Science Department. Science semi- nars were attended by Greg Burr, Richard Kraft, Charles Eid, Teddy Stone, and Keith Nusbaum. The seminars were held from October to March, at the Indiana University Medical Center. A Planimeter which is a device that measures area, was added to the wide variety of machines and devices used by the Science department. With hard work and ingenuity, students managed to maintain the high standards which enabled them to win innumerable honors during the Science Fair. While General Math classes studied powers of ten, Algebra classes went on to the study of the parabola in Mathematics. Under the direction of Mr. Clyde Hoch- stedler, mathematics has included both basic math and trigonometry. Mr. Gerald Flora used an overhead projector to prove a theorem to his Geometry classes. ffm UPPER CENTER-Working out the multiplication tables in a Basic Math navy, 290 class is Angie Band. LOWER LEFT-Measuring the energy in dry cell batteries are Tim Via and Theresa Holman. LOWER CENTER-Demonstrating the technique of measuring angles is Mr. Gerald Flora to Ricky Summers.
