I4 arl l' lliston is shown here as he escorted the Home toming Queen I lllda Born off the football field after her coronation The coronation of the Homecoming Queen is shovxn with her Majesty, Linda Born, Jerry Wilson football co- captain, Glenn Bower President of Alumni Croup and Mr. Richard Emery principal, Excitement at Wood High during the month of October 19 98 ran high This was the first vear our high school could feel that we were backed bv a functlonlng alumni and a b1g celebration was planned as a Homecoming on October 21st The Log yearbook of the school mltiated the ldea of thls gala affair and early 1n the month prepared a slate of sixteen girls who were representatives of the dlfferent school clubs and organlzatlons Five of these glrls won the final honor of actlng as queen and court The high po1nt of the final week of actl V1tl8S was the footall game on Tuesday Here the queen and her court with their escorts made an entrance during the lntermisslon at half time The queen was presented bv the tain of the football team and presented with a large spray of roses by the president of the Alumnl Association A large crowd was present to witness the crowning and most of these spectators wore gold chrysanthemums bearing streamers of purple which had been sold bv the Log staff durlng the day Elatlon knew no bounds when the home team won the game over Sacred Heart with a sizable margln It was a f1tt1ng cllmax to the occasion Followlng the game many of the rooters returned to the building for the first Home- coming Dance where a live combo added much to the atmosphere of fun and comrade- ship. FIRST HOMECOMING IS THE principal ofthe school, crowned by the cap-
