J r in k xx? A L A 'I- ai 7 Y +I, 5 . 'Q S5 grim xt FUHEWURD . Between the covers of this yearbook we, the Class of 1950, would like to relate to you our high school experiences. We would like to express our deep appreciation to the faculty for their help in guiding us and preparing us for the future which we have tried to express in these fan- tastic designs. Their advice will be helpful in adjusting ourselves to the new life we must face very shortly. Through all our hard work we have had some fun in work as well as in recreation. We will never forget our Alma Mater- for we realize that the years were so short and that we may never again return. In this yearbook, in pictures and in words, we may return as often as we wish through memories of bygone days. MEMBERS OF THE BOARD REV. WM. C. SLOUGH, President EDWARD S. DECK, Vice President W. CHORUS-2, 3, 4 Y-TEENS-1 conox GUARD-Z, 3, 4 CLASS HISTORY Our class began its climb up the ladder as a class of twenty-six in 1938. In the years that followed, many have joined us but many others have left. Annually our class participated in the Hallowe'en parades, and in our eighth year we had a Halloween party of our own. In ninth grade our class increased in size because of students from Rehrers- burg, Host, and Bethany joined us. During that year, our only activity was a Christmas party. But as we entered our tenth year, the class decided it was time to raise more funds to enlarge the treasury. To do this we sold Christmas seals and emblems sporting the high school name. One of our activities in our Sophomore year was a hayride. Our class officers that year were: President, Robert Bloss, Vice President, Phyllis Strauseg Secretary, Robert Shartleg Treasurer, Sara Eiler. As we became Iuniors our activities began in full swing. The first thing we did was to organize a Blanket Club. Our Iunior Class Play was a riotous mystery- eomedy called Hobgoblin House. Our first dance was held in Ianuary and was called The Winter Whirlf' Our most important dance was the Iunior Prom. At this dance, our Prom Queen, Esther Mae Cable, was crowned by last year's queen, Betty Hess. Our class officers that year were: President, Peter Crimes, Vice President, Richard Cerhart, Secretary, Ioanne Matthew, Treasurer, YVilliam Crimes. And now we have at last reached the goal which we have been striving for. XVe are at last Seniors. As we reach the top of the ladder we realize that our work and the hard struggle have all been compensated by a lot of fun and pleasure. Among our many pleasant activities, a hayride is foremost. We had two dances, one in October called 'fThe VVitches Frolic at which a prize was given to anyone who could guess the Mystery Man. Our second dance was entitled 'lThe Snow Ball. The class play was a hilarious three-act comedy called Everybody's Getting Married. YVe know that our class ofhcers have always done their best to make these years a success, and we would like to express our deep appreciation for their efforts. Our class officers during this Senior year are: President, Donald Denglerg Vice President, Robert Shartle, Secretary, Ioanne Matthew, Treasurer, William Crimes. Our class colors are pale green and white, and our class flower is the white rose. The class motto, which we know will help us in our future years, is The Road Called Toil Leads to the City Called Success. VVe wish to express our sincere thanks to the faculty, pupils, townsfolk, and parents who patronized all our class ever undertook to do. Our thanks also goes out to our Senior Class adviser, Mrs. Coppola, and to Mr. Gibson for helping us in the making of this yearbook. -iw, .fd gfwfgfgfv L17-5 'SQ7if?9'5 :gx n,n. 1,: :gaining N, Hr-:Lnco P TE M 'FD CONRAD WEISER CUUIOLIDHTEU SBNOOL Q? 4, ,. u . 1 5 X . 1' up ' Li .f f.-,ww W, M ,.p,,, L15--. -42. -- 1 -4-, My-gm, ara:-,mga E ,aff GRADE ELEVEN GRADE EIGHT GRADE NINE GRADE SEVEN GRADE SIX GRADE FOUR GRADE FIVE GRADE TI-IREE GRADE TWO GRADE ONE GRADE 1 Bashore, George Basliore, joel Bergren, Iohn Gibson, Charles Good, George Gromis, Carl Himmelberger, Robert Iones, Bruce Luckenbill, Bruce Mowrey, David Royer, Ronald Schoener, Barry Straub, Glenn Strawser, Daniel Batdorf, Sandra Behney, Iudith Behney, Shirley Keppley, Linda Krick, Linda Maze, Anna Moore, Sandra Slagle, Yvette Spangler, Georgia Striekler, Ioyee Wolfe, Susan GRADE 2 Aulenbach, David Aulenbach, Gene U DEBCLASSMA HULL Batdorf, Craig Garnian, Kenneth Haag, Barry Kreitz, Richard Long, Barry Raihl, Dale Rohrbach, David Swope, Ray VVelker, Edward Werner, Allen Engle, Paula Erwin, Iudi Fidler, Barbara Hays, Mary Ann Hohl, Ellouise Iones, Mary Klopp, Ruth McGrann, Loriel McLean, Elizabeth Moore, Bonnie Pottciger, Roberta Schwartz, Nancy Shanfelder, lane Sonnen, Ann Rochelle Styer, Gail Swope, Annette Teslow, Ioanne GRADE 3 Good, George Kcppley, lanies Leininger, Glenn Shartle, Stephen YVolfe, Thonias Behney, Rochelle Binner, Linda Galvin, Maureen Gcrhart, Patricia Gilbert, Elizabeth Lape, Barbara Scholar, Kathryn Slagle, Maxine Styer, Doris GRADE 4 Auman, Gordon Brenncinan, Larry Cole, Theodore Oberly, Gordon Raihl, Daniel Redcay, Lester Snyder, Bruce Teslow, Frank Yeiser, Terry Bennetch, Dana Benschoff, Carol Boltz, Lucille Brown, Anna Eisenbise, lane Garrett, WVinifred Hoffa, Iune Kershner, Carolyn Kreitz, Sandra Kurtz, Nancy Lewis, Ann Potteiger, Rozanne Redcay, Esther Reinhold, Linda Strause, Evelyn Zerbe, Margaret GRADE 5 Alexander, Terry Behney, Linwood Bickel, Barry Deck, Terry Gibson, Robert Gosch, VVilliani Lape, Byron Lewis, Peter Luclcenbill, Larry Maze, Delbert Miller, Glenn Nloyer, Luther Wenrich, George Aurnan, Diane Eagelnian, Betsy Gilbert, Shirley Gosch, Marianne Gruber, Marian Keppley, Mary Ann Kintzer, Nancy Maurer, Gail McLean, Marilyn Parana, Louise Spangler, Lorraine GRADE 6 Chelius, VVayne Herbine, Frederick McLean, William Meiser, Dale Oberly, Dale Oberly, Gerald Pannabecker, David Reigel, Kenneth Zerbe, Adam Bickel, Barbara Conrad, Dolores Gerhart, Sylvia Gosch, Susan Spitler, Nancy VVenrich, Elsie GRADE 7 Behney, Charles Conrad, George Conrad, XVilliam Fidler, Robert Fink, Karl Hays, David Lape, YVilliam Leininger, Ronald Mattes, Michael Miller, Rodney Raihl, Richard Schaum, Harry Strickler, Richard Thost, Edgar Auchenbach, Grace Auman, Patricia Behney, Thelma Dissinger, Nancy Field, Arlene Franke, Louise Good, Harriett Ann Gosch, Barbara Hoita, Harriett Lee Long, Beverly Moyer, Sarah Oberly, Sandra Spayd, Dorothy Ann GRADE 8 Haak, Iohn Kershner, Edwin Miller, Clair Ney, George, Ir. FUTURESCUPE By Redda Ropper-HoIlywood's Hello folks, this is Redda again coming to you directly from Hollywood this line january day in 1970, and bringing you all the latest news and gossip. Did you know that Miss joyce Behney, well-known speed typist, has just married the famous multi-millionaire, Roger Kauff- man? The United States has just been struck by the world-shaking news of Einstein's and Bloss's combined theory on the study of the Female Species and Why. A little bird just told me that Robert Boyer and his wife, the former Betty Cross, have announced the arrival of their third set of twins! Congratulations! The well-known surgeon, Dr. Richard Spayd, is flying to Alaska with his private nurse, Madelyn DeLong, to set up a prac- tice there. Perhaps though, the real reason is to recuperate from his most recent love affair with the famous debutante, Miss joan Wagner! Dr. Donald Dengler, noted veterinarian, has just employed Misses Gloria Putt, Doro- thy Spatz, Ianice Brehm, and Sara Eiler to work in his new Pussy and Puppy Hospitalf' Flash!!! I have just received the spectacu- lar news from the Olympics that Donald Dissinger has broken the world's high jump record by jumping zo feet! Everyone agrees that the new plastic home on Park Avenue, owned by Miss Ioan Fet- ter, New York socialite, is quite intriguing. But most of the credit is due to the contract- ing company of Robert Shartle. Dolores Moore has just sold her beauty salon and has moved to Hollywood to be- come the hair stylist for the famous movie star, Esther Mae Gable. Miss Cable is now playing opposite that new heart-throb. Henry Cosch, in Wuthering Heights. Be sure and get your tickets now for the exciting jet auto races. Come right out to the new track that playboy, Billy Crimes, opened the other day. Last week, when I was visiting the Ohio famous woman columnist State Fair, I found to my pleasant surprise, an old friend of mine, Mary Manbeck, dis- playing her prize steer. By the way, Income Tax time is here and if you want your taxes computed accurately, call on Mr. Edgar Seigfried at 1122 Forty- tirst Street. The employer of Dentist Assistant, Doro- thy Nicholas, has finally popped that all im- portant question! After nineteen years, it's about time! Guess what! Athlete, jean Filbert, has just won the Women's Lightweight Wrestling Championship of the world. This is really becoming a woman's world! Congratulations Jean! But of course we must give a great deal of the credit to her able manager, Marlin Lengel. We have a celebrity among us today, the girl jockey from Texas, Kathy Stewart. She will be racing here Saturday in the Holly- wood Tea Bowl Race on her famous mare, Mint julepf' Cuess who all the girls are swooning over in the new Broadway hit, f'Make Mine Women? You're right, the one and only uladies' man, Richard Cerhart. While on the subject of Broadway: the noted Shakespearian actress, petite Ioanne Matthew, will play Ophelia in Hamlet, opening soon at the Avon Theater on Broadway. I know everyone will want to see it. I ran into that top-flight fashion model, Shirley Smith, the other day. Rumors are flying that she and news reporter, Quentin Cettel, are eloping to Europe, but neither of them will confirm this statement. Who knows? Now for a bit of good advice for pleasant listening, tune in every Sunday over Station XYZ and listen to the Rev. Peter Grimes and his half-hour program. It's time for me to sign off so l leave you now with this thought for you to remember: The Road called Toil leads to the city called Success. THE MARKS PRINT Womelsdorf, Pa.
