Nellie Mae Engle ACADEMIC This fair haired lassie joined our class in ninth grade, and has reached the goal she has striven for. Nellie plays a clarinet in the high school band and takes pride in her ability of being able to play the Clarinet Polka. As for her future, she has not definitely decided, but whatever she undertakes, we wish her the best of luck and success. Band-1, 2, 3, 4 County Band-3 Chorus-3, 4 Class Play-3, 4 W-Club-4 Cheerleading-2 Robert Lewis Garrett ACADEMIC Robert, better known by everyone as Red, joined us in his fourth grade. Whenever we hear loud laughter in the back of Room 6 you know Red is up to his stunts again. He took an active part in our junior Play. When Red graduates, he wants to join the service. We wish this young man luck and success in all he ever undertakes during his future years. Basketball-1, 2, 3, 4 Baseball-1, 2, 3, 4 Chorus-3, 4 Debate-3, 4 W-Club-4 Operetta-2 Class Play-3, 4 v Bertha Rose Gensemer ACADEMIC from This attractive lassie hails Bethany. She joined us in our Fresh- man year. She took part in our junior Class Play So Help Me. Her hobby is collecting snapshots and listening to Tex Beneke's orchestra. Her favorite subject is English. After graduation, she expects to be a dentist assistant in the Medical Arts Building in Reading. We wish her lots of luck and success in the future. at if ,r,' VA Marjorie Arm Binner HOME ECONOMIC Marjorie joined our class in her Freshman year. Since then she has taken an active part in many of the school activities. Her pleasing person- ality has won for her many friends. Her greatest enjoyment is received from reading books. Marjorie is an active member in the school band, and the chorus. After graduation she plans to enter Cedar Crest College. Good Luck, Marjorie! He joined us in our tenth year. He is an admirer of the feminine sex. Bob was in the commercial section. His favorite subject is P.O.D. Bob is not sure what he wants to do when he gets out of high school. The class of '49 wishes him the best of luck. Chorus-3, 4 Baseball-3 Basketball, Manager-3, 4 Class Play-3 janet Elizabeth Brendel ACADEMIC janet joined our class in her Senior year. She has become very active in Y-Teen activities. Her experience as a Y4Teener of Wernersville High has helped her a lot in our Y-Teen Club. She is a very avid reader and enjoys most any kind of music. She plans to enter training for a nursing career. With her bright smile and pleasant personality wc'rc sure her future patients will be envied. Good luck to our future nurse. !Betly jane Hess , COMMERCIAL Here's one of the beauties better known as Hessy. She joined us in her Freshman year and came from Bethany. Betty who can always be de- pended upon for a joke and a laugh, has her greatest interest in a certain junior. Her favorite pastime is col- lecting photographs. She expects to go to school in Washington, D. C. to be a receptionist. So here's wishing her success and happiness in her future years. Band--2, 3, 4 Chorus-1, 2, 3, 4 Class Play-4 County Chorus-4 Sherwood Stanley Garrett ACADEMIC This tall lad, commonly known to us at Woody joined us in eighth grade. He plays the clarinet and is one of the student band conductors. In sports, his ability was on the basket- ball and baseball team. He has taken the academic course through high school, and we wish him the best of luck and success in whatever he un- dertakes. Her hobby is collecting snapshots and listening to the music of Vaughn Monroe. She is a commercial student and a faithful member of the class.
