' PI CKIN G UP SPEED The 1986-87 Wolfson Cross Country season was the most successful in Wol son's history. Coached by Coach Paul Nowicki, both girls' and boys' teams wo Gateway Conference Championships and advanced to the state finals. Bot squads finished among Florida's top fifteen teams. For the girls', their third conference title and also their third state fina appearance in five years. The Lady Pack was led by junior Tanya Clark, wh made All-Conference. Junior Rosemary Wood coveted the Captain 's Award fo exemplary leadership and dedication. In addition, the boys' team dominated the Gateway Conference. They r ceived four out ofseven available All-Conference positions. The All-Conferenc honorees werejuniors, Rob Cowles and Chet Trefry and seniors, Tbm Flower and Brad Miller. The Pack 's boys recorded the school 's first ever Cross Countr appearance in the state finals. Finally, Wolfson hopes that next year's team wi continue in the spirit and success of the Pack's outstanding 1986-87 year.

Football team again proved Wolfson proud of its athletic program. Coach Ron Brooks and Coach Mike Tbifer led the Pack to a record of 2-5. Although the players did not end the season with a perfect record, their pride and love for football showed up in every practice, workout and play. The team went through rigorous after school workouts which con- sisted of everything from warm-up exercises to practice sacks and hits in order to fully develop each individual player's skills and potential for up com- ing games and possibly for next year's varsity team. The players should be commended for doing a finejob in representing Wolfson with all oftheir school spirit and hard effort.
