STUDENT IWJRMASS TRANSNT Students for Mass Transit is a group of concerned students who campaign to educate their fellow stu- dents and the public about Mass Tran- sit. Students attend two-hour seminars every other week at the school board office. The seminars feature presenta- tions on local transit, pollution control, and the proposed People Mover. Ac- tivities include making flyers, interview- ing city councilmen, and publishing their ovim newsletter. Students are selected by applica- tions and then chosen by the advisors and admitted as members. The ad- visors are Dr. William Fryar, Supervisor of Science and Environmental Studies and Mr. Steven L. Arrington, Com- munity lnvolvement Manager for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. STAR STUDENT This year's Star Student comes from the Business Department. She is Diana DeWees. She received the award for her superior performance in Business Education.
