The members of these seminars are students who excel in these fields. The students are recognized and referred by their teachers to submit their S.A.T. scores. After successful exams are taken at Jacksonville University, applicants are accepted as members. These members meet every other week at Jacksonville University with a guest speaker to speak on their interests. The sponsors are Bill Fryar, Supervisor of Environmental Education, for Science, and Otto Beckham, Supervisor of Music Teachers of Duval County, for Humanities. FoRENs'cs Forensics is an organization for those students who excel in various forms of public speaking. ln the past two years, Forensics has won twenty-four awards on the District level and has had eight qualifiers for the State contest. These students participate in contests sponsored by the state of Florida and by various organizations. Robert Storch was a State winner in the American Legion Contest. Gary Wilkinson was a state winner in the Speak-Up Contest sponsored by Exchange Club. Mr. McWhirter is their sponsor.
