Stenographer? Tc-aclier, perhaps? l know--l'll go to see that new fortune teller in Greenville, Madame Gaza. They say she is a whiz. ...Matlame Gaza is a crystal gazer, and l believe she knows her businessg she couliln't have just made up all she told me about myself. She told me that she saw me in her crystal ball as a reporter with a by-line on the Chicago Daily. Since she was so convincing about what she tolcl me, I asked about my classmates. lt seems she cloesn't have to see one in person to tell his past, present, and futureg and thc things she told me were simply amazing. For instance, she saw Annetta as the owner of the Bar M Ranch out in Arizona. She was cloing wonderful work, with the help of her foreman Lee XXfesley, in soil conservation and irrigation work. Anil clown in San Antonio, Patricia had recently opened the ultra modern Barker Hotel. ller head chef was joe whose specialty was charcoalhbroiled steaks. and hot music of Don s orchestra starring Troy at the piano Mary Nell was personnel manager of the largest storc in Texas specializing in ladies toggery That growing establishment was owned by o Ann C' whose flair for unusual design was making her the talk of the fashion world Mary F had become Mrs Walter johnson She had two pre school age boys and a small daughter in the second grade In spite of her work with hcr family md her church she had been elected president of the Wolfe City P I' A and had been responsible for promoting plans for a new verv modern school plant And the architect for the building was none other than Tommie who ranked among the top ten architectural engineers in the nation He and Laura had tiny twms a girl just like Laura and a boy just like Tommie which suited Tommie and Laura exactly On Garthur Oddtrey s TV show the newest sensation was the Ductoncs Nancy and Dorris What they couldn t do with a song' They were fast becoming rivals with ames Brown the bobbysoxers favorite for the star spot Touring the country as the Waltzing Bluebonnets were Myers and Virginia Under the able managership of Robert they had become quite popular in sophisticated dance circles An experimental station was located just south of Wolfe City Dale who had helped the farmers a great deal in a program of soil conservation and disersified farming was in charge of this station immie the superintendent of the new W CI-IS had had Dales help too in building up the agriculture department to a two teacher unit 'There too Doland had revolutionized football as coach at Wolfc I-li with his Z formation and Wolfe City had won the Class AA Statc Championship surprisingly keeping peace Polly was bound for South America on the ueen Elnzabeth Since she had inherited a fortune she was hardly ever in Texas Starring in the soprano part of Rosemarie at the Starlight Opera in Dallas was Oma jean After that contract was finished she was to make a concert tour of southern Europe It seemed that Barbara had achieved her ambition to be a nurse She was an attractne efficient Army nurse in a seterans hospital and proudly wearing a captain s diamond ring Betty Ruth was personal secretary to the president of the largest air line in Texas With thc same alr line was blond Mary Ann as stewardess on the Cuba run Mary Izllcn was really making a career for herself as a happy housewife capably caring for her beautiful home and her family In a newly furnished suite of offices anie was directing an adxertising agency I-ler office was putting out some quite stunning new things in ad vertising copy Prom all that doodlmg in high school had come success for ames R His venture into commercial art had turned into a popular comic strip in the daily newspapers Granville spent all his time with cars racing in the automobile races in lndianapolns each sprmg and spending the rest of the year in training and in giving exhibitions of dare devil driving Billy too was leadlng an exciting life racing but as a jockey I-Ie had won two Kentucky Derbies as well as several other coveted awards And james Parrish had become a policeman whose understanding heart k th ht track had helped him to get many a juvenile delinquent bac on e rig So you think all thas sounds awfully glamorous?
