Leaving the normal American husband and wife to thrash out their difficulties the dream drifts out to Edwards Air Force Base in California At Edwards are tested all new types of planes and Arr Force equip ment Captain Jerry Ketser holds down two extremely important Jobs there Jerry as always is quite n odest about these jobs His comment on his first Job xnspecting propellers on Jet planes ts Somehow I feel as though I weren t accomplishing too much' Jerry s other Job ts even more vital Everyone has heard of the new Pogo plane well Jerry is now test piloting a Pogo stiek' Y s Jerry s life in the Air Force is nothing but a series of ups and downs The dream flies back to Ky oleott and looks In on activity at the paper factory Loretta justiee is still working there bending over her glue pots Loretta is punching in hours on the night shift I looks as if Bob Altman got disgusted waiting for her to knock off from work and left never to be seen again Loretta strll has her hope chest but little hope The other day her brother Kenny was talking to one of his friends The friend was saying My brother has a wooden leg That s nothing said Kenny my sister Loretta has a cedar chest' Ah poor Loretta but maybe something will Bob up in the near future. a new radio station Bill Moore finally giving up on the idea that he was gotng to grow taller decided to be a Jockey The only trouble with this dectston though was the fact that Willy had neglected to learn how to ride' Temporarily discouraged Bill then decided to be the next best thing to a Jockey a disc Jockey' Shy retiring Margie Dawson appears in the picture Margie is seen closely examining the ground with a magnify ing glass complete with a Sherlock Holmes hat on top of her head Margie has Joined the F B I and now is the United States public sleuth number one Margie is devoted to her Job and has succeeded in tracking down many desparadoes Gus the giggling gunman Dave the knave of the cave and Buck the bookie who didnt lookie like a crookiel The only thing that bothers Margie in her dangerous occupation is when the crooks try to lie to her about their criminal background and arent Frank with her' The last 1956 semor that the dream focuses its attention on is the questionable future of Kathryn Drbell Katie rs standing tn the middle ofthe Yucca Flats desert rn Nevada beside a monstrous object She is an expert on all types of explosives and fire crackers At this moment she is experimenting with a type of large economy sxze frrecracker designed to explode at a particular time when the coast is clear and no one is watching Zero hour draws near and Katie chortles in glee mumbling to herself, If this fire cracker is successful I ll no longer be making Just 'Peanuts I ll be a rich woman Ten seconds to go 9 8 '7 6 the coast is tlear Katie lights the overgrown fuse and runs for her life B O O M ' Hoffie Jumped out of bed screaming frantically Bob tried to sooth her troubled nerves and after what seemed an eternrty she calmed down enough to say Oh Bob I had the most horrible nightmare about the senior class You'd never believe what those happy lrttle morons will be doing in 1966' 1 . t . 1 . 2 , . .
