SENIOR HISTORY 1951 1952 In our freshman year Ed Anker was presrdent Wayne Mathew vxce presrdent Leona Brown secretary Darlene Noms treasurer, Rosemary Mathew and Bob Altman student councrl members We chose black and whlte class sweaters from Deckers We had two class partres one was a skatrng party and the other was hay rrde and werner roast We sponsored a stand at the school carnrval and a dance for the school 1952 1953 In our sophomore year Darlene Norrrs was pres1dent, Wayne Mathew vrce presrdent, Pat Chamberlarn secretary Leona Brown treasurer, and Jo Ann Blanchette and Marvrn Moore student councrl members We had a skatlng party and sponsored an all school dance We made money on a country store stand and polrce force whlch we used at the Halloween Carmval 1953 1954 In our Jumor year Pat Chamberlam was presrdent Ed Anker vrce presrdent, Grace Lehe secretary Darlene Norrrs treasurer, and Leona Brown and Marvrn Moore student councrl members Th1s year we gamed srx new members from Round Grove We chose Clementme for our play and those that had a part were Jamce Menefee, Barbara Trout, Ed Anker Jo Ann Blanchette, John Grllen Rex Wrrght Paul Srgman, Wayne Mathew Pat Chamberlarn Grace Lehe Kay Keller, and Janet Englrsh The drrector was Joyce Folk the assrstant drrector was Darlene Norrrs, and the prompters were Rosemary Mathew and Shlrley Wagner We had a skatrng party at Lafayette and we sponsored a sock hop tn the gym Some of the grrls played basket ball agamst the Sophomore girls and won! The prom was the next event and we held rt at the Beach Ballroom ll We had a band from Lafayette and our theme was Jam Sessron After the prom we had a show at Wolcott and a breakfast after the show at the school house Near the end of the year we chose a pmk rose for our class flower and Not for ourselves but for all as our class motto 1954 1955 In th1s last grand glorrous year Pat Chamberlarn was presldent, Gene Hartke vrce presrdent, Grace Lehe secretary, Darlene Norrrs treasurer and Jamce Menefee and Edward Anker student councrl members We chose Baumer s of Kentland to do our semor prctures and annual prctures We had a Chrrstmas party at the home of Kay Keller Our money makmg schemes consrsted of cake walks, sellrng cake and coffee after the home basketball games, and sellxng rce cream and candy We chose blue caps and gowns for graduatxon and the day after graduatron the senrors are leavmg for Washrngton and New York ffm! f-J. 1 f Ti' ,f Z 1 k 9 1' - 'li ' a . , f tg . .
