We took on another passenger in January of l949,Doris Wamsher. We were green fnot from being sea sickj and looked forward to hard work and some good times. For our crew we chose the following: Captain ---------- Arthur Herzog - - ---- President Cabin Boy - - - Paul Lear - - - - - Vice President Log Recorder - - - Luann Fisher - - ---- Secretary Ship's Safe -------- Elizabeth Blume --------- Treasurer Our two deck hands - - Julia Sell and Jim Bogart - - - Student Council Admiral --------- Mrs, Oryall ------------- Sponsor It was decided that we would have a Crazy Auction at our carnival. The Crazy thing wasn't a loss due to our time and efforts spent. We now decided it was time for some of those good times we were looking forward to, so we gave a party. We had a weiner roast and then played games. One day a little boat came to make a visit and who should be on that boat but Mr. Love from the House of Harter to sell us sweaters. We chose Maroon and White. We received our sweaters on February 7, 1949. Because the year turned to '49 it was time for another party. Our boat took us to Monticello and made it's stop in front of the bowling alley. We enjoyed this very much because as you know we are a very energetic class. Due to things beyond our control our sponsor could not join us so we asked Mr. Crafton to come to the party with us. And now it is sad to say our lst year of voyage is over. We leave our ship to return in September. It was September again, and our boat was started again on it's way. This year as our officers we chose: Captain - - - - -Elizabeth Blume - - ---- President Cabin Boy- - - - Paul Lear ----- - - Vice President bog Recorder - - - -Lucille Heinrich - - ---- Secretary Ship's Safe --------- Julia Sell ------------- Treasurer Our two deck hands - - Janet Benner and Iim Bogart- - Student Council Admiral ---------- -Mrs. Oryall ------------- Sponsor 'I'his year we had present 22 passengers. We lost Lenora Altman, Pat Brown, Donna Pierce , Norma St. Pierre, and Paul Taylor. We gained Martha Marie Trout. Our first event was a party aboard ship, September 23. We all had a fine time. For the Carnival this year we had a country store which proved to be a success. We also had a baseball stand. On February 27 another little boat came along side and this time it was the Iosten's man selling class rings. We ordered our rings this same day. On March 24 our boat took us to Remington to the bowling alley. All enjoyed the trip very much. And then again our boat docked for the summer. We all retumed safe and sound for the Junior year. This year there were 21 of us. To be our crew we chose the following: Captain ------- - - Elizabeth Blume - - ---- President Cabin Boy - - - - - -Marilyn Hendry - - - - - - Vice President Log Recorder - - - - Martha Trout - - - ---- Secretary HAROLD JENSON BANK OF REYNOLDS RENSSELAER REYNOLDS Class History fContinuedj Ship's Safe --------- Harold Jordan ---------- Treasurer Our two deck hands - - Luann Fisher and Jim Bogart- - Student Council Admiral ---------- Mr, Reeves ------------- Sponsor We lost one passenger this year. Edna Justice left soon after the year started, We were happy to get our class rings in September. We were very proud of them. We decided to sell pop corn as a way to make money. Also this was the year for us to present a Junior play. For the Carnival we had a cake walk, and we sold pop com. Both projects were a success. By the process of elimination we decided on Peter Beware as our Ir. play, and December 8th we presented it in the Wolcott Theatre. The boat was filled to the top. We had lots of fun preparing and giving this play. March 13 we saw a little boat coming. This boat was the magazine man telling us how to sell them. We made a lot of money from these sales. On May 9th we had a dinner - dance for the Seniors, at the Sportsman in Monticello, The prophesy was read by Miss Julia Sell. We had present all the high school presidents. Last but not least we decorated the Theatre for Commencement. Again we docked for the summer, to assembly again in September for our last year at sea. September 4, 1951, we started out with 19 in the boat. We lost Hazel Simmons during the summer. But to make up for that, we gained one in retum. Hazel Sterling came to us from Russiaville. Other than that, we were all old shipmates. As our crew we chose the following: Captain ---------- Elizabeth Blume ------- - - President Cabin Boy --------- Paul Lear ---------- Vice President bog Recorder- - - - - Julia Sell ------ ------ Se cretary Ship's Safe ----- - - Lucille Heinrich --------- Treasurer Our two deck hands - - Luann Fisher and Paul Hoppe- -Student Council Admiral ---------- Mr. Furber ------------- Sponsor This year wehad a lot of littleboats visiting us. we got our name cards. Also we contracted our annual from the Taylor Yearbook Co. and we ordered our announcements. We took a vote and decided on royal blue caps and gowns, with white tassels. This year to make money, we sold candy, ice cream, and pop. We also had the usual Carnival, and we made quite a lot of money. We chose Luann Fisher as Editor - in - Chief to help us in producing our annual, Julia Sell was chosen as Associate Editor, Martha Trout as Business Manager, Ilm Bogart as Sports Editor , and Eleanor Anliker as Snapshot Editor. So we reach the end of our joumey, and we leave the boat to take off on voyages of our own. May each of us be successful. v T 1- A K I AVL LUCILLE 8: ROBERT FOSTER MAX BARBAR SHOP WESTERHOUSE GARAGE WOLCOTT WOLCOTT WUICOTT 07555 NW RAY ALLIE likes to hunt and fish, He never liked to study, Someday he'll find some little dish, Who'll be his real - life buddy. JANET BENNER, whose voice is low pitched, Is always neat and tidy, When she and Richie finally get hitched, Could you see HER washing didies? ELIZABETH BLUME, known by most as Pee Wee, Was our president all through the year, She solves our problems quick as can be, For her efforts I think we should cheer. LUANN FISHER would make a good teacher, Of us girls she was always the wiser, She might even make a good preacher, But she's stuck on that guy, Jimmy Keiser. LUCILLE HEINRICH, who used to be shy, A secretary would like to be, When she finds a job, no chair she'l1 buy, Cause she'll sit on her bosses' knee. ARTHUR HERZOG should be on the stage. He thinks he is very able, To the ladies he'd be quite a rage, Cause he'd look so much like Gable. DEWAYNE LEAR, too small to reach, Is the shortest of all the boys, To be as tall as any peach, Would be his greatest joy. PAUL HOPPE needs a shave badly, But he is a stubborn guy, A11 the girls would love him madly, If a razor he would buy. JULIA SELL doesn't like red hair, But Lloyd loves to call her red , lt's then her temper really flairs, And she conks him on the head. If you ever need a nurse, To straighten troubles out, Don't walt for them to call the hearse, Just call on MARTHA TROUT. TOOTS ANLIKER, so short and sweet, Is sometimes OH, so smart, Next year, if you should chance to meet, I'll bet she's Mrs. Bogart! JOYCE BLANCHETTE is the quiet kind, She's fond of little beavers. I'll bet she'd never change her mind, For some old bewhiskered geezerl JIM BOGART'S looks sure make him blue, When he walks across the room, He just can't figure what to do, For all the girls that swoon. JANET FURRER, who studies the most, Is really a friendly young lass, We like her because she doesn't boast, Yet she stands at the head of the class, MARILYN HENDRY will break her nose, Some day in the study hall, Unless she watches where she goes, And quits making eyes at Paul. HAROLD JORDAN is a Jack - of - all - Trades He sings, he draws, he's a poet: But this isn't news, look at his grades, B-R-O-T-H-E-Rl Dotheyshowit! PAUL l.EAR'S Frazer to him is the best, And Mikie to him is the same, Neither, he says, compares with the rest, And someday he'll change Mikie's name. CHUCK MATHEW is an ornery cuss, He's always causing trouble. Someday he's going to start a fuss, And end up seeing double! HAZEL STERLING, who sings and plays, On radio would like to be, We hope she gets there one of these days, But we'll just have to wait and see. To our sponsor and the rest of our class, We hope your best you will dog We've had lots of fun in the 12 years past, We, the MIGHTY Seniors of '52. JULIA SELL PAUL SMART IMPLEMENT CO.
