We, the closs of 1988, would like to shore o port of our yearbook with you, Steve Ambrose. As a member of our closs you will always be remembered for the times you smiled, the rimes you were quiet, ond the rimes you mode us feel just o little bit better. 81 DEDICATION We, the Class of 1988, have spent four of the most important years of our lives ot Wolcott High School growing intel- lectually, emotionally, and socially. There have been an enormous amount of people that have helped us accom- plish the difficult task of maturing. We often thanked these people who have influenced our lives, but some how it wasn't enough. The dedication of our yearbook was a very difficult decision, for there were so many deserving nom- inations. Our staff was without an ad- visor for sometime, therefore, many of the faculty members, as well as ad- ministrators, were always willing to lend a helping hand. Therefore the yearbook staff decided to dedicate the Aquila to the three most deserving recipients. We have also specially thanked four other individuals who have been so generous with their concern for the class of '88. Mr. Edward Barfolini Mr. Edward Barfolini, who became the school principal in 1987,has quickly become o member of the Wolcott High School ''family''. Adopting to o new environment is o difficult tosk bur Mr. Barfolini accomplished this with style, poise, and compassion. He approached many new situations and al- ways resolved them with success. Early in our senior year, when we were without on odvisor, he accepted this responsibility and guided us during many difficult times. Throughout the year, even after we hod on advisor, he was concerned for us and our yearbook. Mr. Barfolini, in appreciation for 'the rimes' you gave us confidence when we needed it the most, we ore very honored to dedicate the 1988 Aquila to you. 82 Mrs. Marie Carroll Through the years, Mrs. Carroll has become very important to our Senior Class. Even though she has tremendous responsibilities to the school system, she has always token the time to help us with our studies, to listen to our problems, to advise us, and just be o friend. Along with her commitment to the Instructional Center, she has assumed the difficult and time consuming position of Se- nior Class Advisor. All the time that Mrs. Carroll puts in is appreciated and shown through the success of the students and the functions which she coordinated. Thank you Mrs. Carroll, for helping us to mature through the years, and for being o coring confidante. For oil you do . . . THIS BOOK'S FOR YOU!!!! Mr. Robert Chrisfino In the post, many students hove shored the privilege of having Mr. Robert Chrisfino for a teacher. He is more than a teacher to many of his students, he is a friend. His way of teaching is very unique and free spirited. His style and intellect moke if a pleasure to be o member of his class. Mr. Chrisfino has initiated many programs to better the quality of education, os well os the students themselves. The personality, manner, and sense of humor of Mr. Chrisfino ore dis- played through his exceptional method of teaching. He incorporates new techniques of learning which keep the students of his class enthralled. Mr. Chrisfino, you hove expanded the horizons of knowledge and potential for us in our futures. You hove shown us the different characteristics of Junioriris and Senioritis and how to deal with them when they ore in their earliest stages. Thank you for being o very im- portant port of our lives. 80 SPECIAL Mrs. Rosemarie Tessier Over rhe pasr four years the guidance staff has been very important to the students. For all your hard work and comfort . . . Merci Beaucoups!! Mrs. Jeanne Marcoux THANKS Mr. Steven Russo In the beginning of the school year, the yearbook staff wos without on advisor. Jimmy, I Love You ALWAYS. 157 PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS Upon entering our senior year, we become conscious of the transient nature of high school. We needed that final guidance, that final push in the right direction, and it was there. The controlling presence of Mr. Cook was there leading us down the straight and narrow. The learning experience here or Wolcott High is not just what is written on the blackboards or what is read in textbooks. Much of the learning deals with lessons of life and how to interact with one another. We've learned to respond with direct action toward any problem situation. Together we hove succeeded, and tomorrow we will overcome. Who knows what destiny will dictate for you; os for today, take pleasure in living it to the fullest. Be especially proud of our successful Magazine Drive and our first Thanksgiving victory over Holy Cross. This year brought yet another new principal, Mr. Bortolini, to Wolcott High. We hove been given the start, now the future is in our hands; not only ours, but also that of the town, the country, and the world. Moke the most of if. Thank you for allowing your officers to serve you. Thank you Mrs. Carroll, and my officers: Lynette Deschenes, Kelly Beck, Doyno Sirois, Jeff Larrivee, and Tracey Hartman for giving so much help and time this year. Hope to see you in fen years! Ramble on! Sincerely, Jim Bookman 158 TIME OUT FOR THE EDITORS Here Ir is! The finished product — THE 1988 AQUILAI After oil of the hard work, dedication and time we ore frankly out of snappy lines . . . This book holds many memories that we will oil cherish for o lifetime. It was our pleasure (most of the time) to serve our class in such o significant way. As editors of the yearbook we'd like to thank the staff members who remained dedicated through thick and thin. Thanks to Chick, the custodian who has worried about us on oil those late nights. Those nights were some of our memories; we hope that you find many more in this yearbook. Even after we go our separate ways, we know that this yearbook will always keep us close to one another. Good luck and we hope you attain all of your future aspirations. Ciao for now! Left to right: Sumono Roy Morisso Pepin Camille Perugini Jim Sanzone Editors 159 In late October when we were left with- out on advisor, Mrs. Louise Elliott gra- ciously took on the added responsibility of becoming the Yearbook advisor. Through the rough times, crazy times (and there were o lot of them), and at oil times, she stuck by us and helped to produce the best yearbook ever! So we would like to fake this time and soy: Thank You Mrs. Elliott for oil the help you hove given us throughout this year. The senior class would like to rec- ognize Mr. Russell Johnson . Although he resigned due to unavoidable cir- cumstances, it was his efforts that got this yearbook off the ground. He also remained, like any good friend, close to us in a special way. We thank you for what you did for the Class of '88.
