Girls’ softball seemed to create a lot of interest this year. The girls’ ability to win every game except one, during regular season play, at- tributed to this fact. This year’s stars, who also won the Colonial Conference softball title, really showed all of us (especially the guys) how to play ball. We expect to see a winning team for a long time to come because of Wolcott’s tre- mendous interest in the game of softball.

This year’s senior class pro- duction of George M. saw a fine bit of acting, dancing, and sing- ing done by Little Georgie him- self”, Rick Guilfoile. Talent is not something that is more abundant at Wolcott High than any other high school in the state, but the long work hours and endless enthusiasm that Wolcott’s seniors put into their production made George M. stand far above any other school play in the area. Mom, Dad, and Josie were pure gold, and without the Cohans’ ability to charm the audience we prob- ably never would have seen that tenth and final standing ova- tion. Of course, the director Mr. Robert Carroll and his staff, Mrs. Cynthia Koch, Mr. Matthew Tyndall, among others, all did the professional job which made the play seem to be noth- ing short of Broadway.

To have beaten every boundary and the once-felt pains and sorrows to have long forgotten . .. Smiles, laughter — a mellow fire burning gently in your heart — a joke, a pun, a picture of a flower. Nothing has no pleasure seeing the world through rose-colored glasses. Memories imprints of time . .. jubilance. There is no reward no payment better than the warm, fluttery feeling of enjoyment. Now that was a banquet! This year’s Honor Society Senior Ban- quet was something to talk about. The theme, the Gatsby era, made for a most interesting and deli- cious night. The second purpose of the evening was to install the new officers, who are: President Ralph Napiany, Vice-President Martha Davidson, Secretary Carol Monnerat, and Treasurer Ron Lo- kites.
