The difference is this: A man who tarries long hours in his field, with patience, prospective, and drive, who lets time do its work, ripening, mellowing, perfecting, who cares more than just a little, thinking, hoping, praying, who loves his life, his work, his family, his home — can only harvest the purest of fruits, much purer than those men who have no conscience. And that’s the difference between exceptional performance and existing at the border of it. Each man has a star to follow and a way to reach it. Everything he does should count — tying his shoe, writing a story, helping a friend who’s in need. To perform in life has many different meanings to every different person, But to perform well can only mean doing the best you can at what you're doing. There is no room for fraud for laziness for taking the easy way out — only the fruit put into a food can make that food delicious. Stop, think, begin to help yourself to perform your life in your own unique way in your own unique performance.

Determination that brings us above and beyond is the kind of thing shown by Bill Keane in this photo. The entire 1975 track team, thrust into Colonial League Competition, did an outstandng job by breaking many of the long-standing records. The squad, guided by rookie Coach Gary Waugh, saw tremendous improve- ment and drive from its under- classmen, who promise to keep up a long-held tradition of winning. %
