PRCDPHECY As we start off on our magic carpet in the year nineteen hundred sixty, we swoop down on the state of Colorado where we see fifty acres covered with chickens Because of our curiosity we decide to stop for a few minutes Landing at the main entrance we see a large sign 'Bunky's Chicken Farm, Ronald Floyd, Manager Much to our surprise we find they are none other than our two trusty school mates, Ronald Floyd and Jullus Pechtel We talk with them for a while and then, returning to our maglc carpet, we journey on to seek out our other classmates After cross1ng many states we land in Florida We stroll along Miami Beach and notice two fellows lazily sunning on the crowded beach We look a little closer and find that they are Richard Shannon and Harold Tiffany Immediately we start to talk and after a while we discover they are in Florida on a WBus1ness Dealn We w1sh them luck and once more we take to the sky Leavlng Florida, we head north to a cooler climate As we deslre a little entertainment, we decide to stop in New York to see a basketball game Upon entering Madison Square Garden, see that lt is a decisive game between two professional teams We stay to the f1H1Sh and find out that the manager of the winmng team is none other than Joe Augusta, who formerly managed our own Woestina teams Since he was surrounded by many reporters and photographers, we didn't have a chance to talk w1th him, but we are glad to know he has succeeded Before leaving New York we decided to see a baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers Before the game we want to get a few Yankee autographs, because we are Yankee fans While standing there waiting for a chance to see the who was calling us and we found R1ch1e Bascom, famous shortstop for tre Yankees, trylng to get our attentlon After hearing of his great success, we traveled on Still deslring more amusement we travel over to Coney Island We enter the fortune tell1ng booth and as we s1t down, we notice Eleanor Tuft gazing into her crystal ball She begins tell1ng us our fortunes but stops instantly when she recognized us We only have a very short chat because others are eagerly waiting outside her booth We hop onto our magic carpet once more and head toward upper New York State We stop at that famous capital city, Albany, to get somethlng to eat, but the booths in the restaurant were all filled We walked over to a table where only one girl was:mtting and asked 1f we might Join her She looked up and to our surprise it was our classmate, Joan Schmld We asked her what she was doing and she replied that she was head nurse at Albany City Hospital As time was short we finished lunch and moved on In nearby Schenectady we stopped again to gaze at the big city We walked into the First National Bank and asked where to find the president A guide showed us lnto his outer office and to our surprise we found Bea Clark, his faithful private secretary, sitting behind a desk Since she had not journeyed far from our little school, we asked if she knew where Jim Morrlssey and Doug Ottendorf were She sa1d we could find them in our old home town . C we , 1 players, our names echoed through the crowd. We turned to see A 0 . . 0 We flew through the sky and came again to earth in Rotterdam Junction. It had become a booming town with several gas stations and beauty salons. We walked into a Tydol gas station and found Doug behind a big desk littered with papers. Looking at a name- plate on his desk we noticed that he was the sole owner. We asked him where Jim was. Doug grinned as he led us into an exclusive beauty salon, catering to wealthy women. We asked Doug why he had taken us in there, but before he had time to tell us, we saw Jim. No, he wasn't a beauty operator or stylistg his job was easy. He had to keep the girls and women amused until the operators were ready for them. Considering theability which he had shown in school we knew before he told us so, that he was happy with his work We noticed one girl, who had a sign marked specialist over her booth We asked who she was, and found it to be Betty Bush She offered to demonstrate her skill on us, but we refused for we had little time We then headed back west, but stopped at Niagara Falls long enough to enjoy their beauty, and then we looked up our other classmates We didn't have to look far, before we found Ann Tyrrell and Edith Shanty enjoying the beauty also We talked with them and learned that they were on their honeymoons It was growing darker and the light of the sun was fading as we told them we had to leave before darkness and nightcwer took us When in the sky once more, we decided that the Classof '50 had not turned out too badly after all my 54' 1, ULD DUTEH mmm 3 ,j I A ,335 J aw NIMH EEIEIIEHE EI mfwfiwiwm E135 dulkl ,ca-M, JJWCQJ' M46 .7-ofw o O - O O O .
