This outstanding member of the Woburn High School faculty has encouraged us toward our goals by his sincere con¬ cern for us, and by his enthusiastic support of our class. This individual has presented himself as firm, fair, and person¬ able. There has always been an atmosphere of friendliness and understanding in his classroom. He has successfully taught us to recognize and deal with the social concerns of our generation. Beyond this, he has become acquainted with many members of the entire student body. He has consistently added much to our extra-curricular activities as a former coach of football and tennis, and with his loyal support to all our social events. In the future, as we relive our high school days, we will remem¬ ber you as a trusting friend and generous human being. For the understanding you have shown for us, we offer this symbol of our appreciation to you . . . MR. RICHARD T. QUALEY 17 Administration and Faculty 18 19 Sup erin tendent’s Message Congratulations to the Class of 1978. The challenge of the future in our democratic society demands the fullest effort of each of us as a participant and citizen, so that we preserve those fun¬ damental values which make us a country of great spirit, and to effect those changes which make us a nation of understanding and leadership. Good luck to each of you as you continue your learning and formal education. Sincerely, Superintendent of Schools U . Charles W. Lamontagne DR. CHARLES W. LAMONTAGNE Superintendent PAUL J. ANDREWS Assistant Superintendent I. EDWARD MARASHIO Assistant to the Superintendent 20 Yearbook Message To Members of the Class of 1978: The preparation, editing, and presentation of this year¬ book of the Class of 1978 has been a monumental task completed with dedication by a superior staff of students and advisers. In one sense a yearbook is merely a pictorial record of the senior year in high school. In a more significant sense it is a permanent memorial of the associations, activities, and classmates who have given flesh to the spirit that is Woburn Senior High School. On the eve of Graduation in 1978, it is fitting that one pause to reflect on those associations of our high school days, since never again will the Class of ’78 meet as a whole. It is a time of deep sentiment. It is a time to be happy and a time to be sad in reviewing our educational gains during the past three years; happy that we had taken some of the benefits of our high school opportunities — sad that we had not taken more. To each member of this fine class is extended a personal good wish for health, happiness, and success in reaching the goals of a journey of a lifetime. .. i i] r ( ' V 2 . Henry D.
