To The Members of The Class of 1973: HENRY D. BLAKE Principal Within the covers of this splendid edition of the Innitou, there exists a perma¬ nent, pictorial record of your years in the Woburn Senior High School. The intensive and careful preparation of this volume is evidence of the arduous labors of your classmates and of the dedicated efforts of your Staff Advisors. The current atmosphere of change that has pervaded our society has had a profound impact on secondary schools. Accepted, traditional concepts come into question. The complexity of our society and the rate of acceleration of change have challenged the school to develop ways to enable you to meet these problems with a spirit of inquiry, dedication, and justice. The attitudes that you have developed in your daily associations in the school community will reflect in substance the extent to which you have been prepared for this ever-changing society. It is our prayerful wish and hope that this volume will be a happy, permanent memento of those days, activities, and Staff Members that helped to prepare you for active participation in preserving the fundamental aims of our American way of life. DR. CHARLES W. LAMONTAGNE Superintendent JEROME T. LYNCH Deputy Superintendent Congratulations to the Class of 1973. The few years of your high school career have been shared with the historic events of a changing era. Memorably, indeed, will history record the ending of the armed conflicts in much of Indo-China which for the past decade has so influenced your lives and the attitudes of the nation as a whole. The future is exciting and rich for you to continue your education, to develop your life, and to help yourself and your fellow man. Surely, your intellectual and vocational growth will continue. In today’s world there are many avenues beckoning to the future; a key path is learning. There are two things that cannot be taken from you, barring catastrophe or tragedy: one, the knowledge which you acquire and store in your head; and, two, the skills which you develop with your hands. As you go forth, I know you have the tools for success — gained from the help of your parents, your teachers, and your church. Best wishes to each of you. Charles W. Lamontagne j Superintendent of Schools I. EDWARD MARASHIO Assistant to the Superintendent BERTHA BANE Assistant Superintendent 20
