PRINCIPALS MESSAGE Mr. Blake and Mr. Brennan enjoy the Student Council Tea. » H i 1 7m. 1, Members of the Graduating Class of 1960: The activities of Commencement Week in the colleges and secondary schools of our country are occasions when speakers and writers often are asked to convey a message to members of graduating classes. Traditionally, the advice so freely given is too often filled with platitudes and sophistries as unconvincing now as the day they were first pro¬ posed. It is as though one were asked to convey in cap¬ sule form the wisdom of the ages to serve neophy¬ tes as a guiding beacon on the highway of life. Yet, certainly, this eve of Graduation in June 1960 should be a time of deep and honest reflection. It is most important to you and to the society in which you live, how well you have matched your capabilities with the educational opportunities of¬ fered you in your high school career. If you have met this challenge, if you have learned to live well with your fellow man, and if you have learned the lesson of humility, your education has not been in vain. For over one hundred years, it has always been the principal purpose of the Woburn High School to provide, in keeping with the demands of the changing eras, the best possible opportunities in secondary education for the youth who attend the school. It is the sincere hope of the administration and staff that these opportunities have been seized to aid you in preparing for the uncertain but chal¬ lenging future. i) Henry D. Blake, Principal
