Nelson, Martha M. Hill (Valedictorian), Marriette Thompson Lower left: Anna E. French, Lower right: Abel T. Winn Oldest Living Alumnus of Woburn High Woburn High School has produced, over a period of one hundred years, many eminent men and women graduates. Perhaps there is no alumnus who carries the title of first more than a 95 year old man, Mr. Arthur U. Dickson of Clinton Street, Woburn. As far as we have been able to ascertain, he is the oldest living graduate of Woburn High School. After his graduation from secondary school in 1875, he pursued a course in civil engineering at Tufts College. He is at present the oldest living graduate of this college and the sole survivor of the class of 1878. After his college days, Mr. Dickson worked in an advertis¬ ing firm, an importing company, and as an operator on the first telephone line out of Boston to Natick, Framingham, and Worcester. He was also treasurer of Burdett College of which he is the oldest living graduate. Mr. Dickson retained a keen interest in farming throughout his life and, because he refuses to retire, he still raises and sells many varieties of plants and flowers. Because of his keen interest in civic affairs, he checked the daily progress of Route 128 as it was being built. This gained him an invitation to ride in the first car to travel the route with state officials. Congratulations to Mr. Arthur Dickson from the class of ' 54.
