PRINCIPAL of the WOBURN HIGH SCHOOL The members of the Senior Class of Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-two are in¬ deed proud to dedicate this issue of The Innitou to our new principal, Mr. Henry D. Blake. We were first privileged to make the acquaintance of Mr. Blake as our English teacher and, during our funior year, we were pleased that he was appointed our new principal. He has always been our leader, friend, and counselor in all our undertakings throughout our high school days. As the first Senior Class to have completed a year under his guidance, we wish him success in all his future endeavors. ( 9 )

Zo the Class of 1952z The Yearbook of the Class of 1952 is a permanent, pictorial record of class- work, activities, and social events of your life in the Woburn High School. In a very real sense the school is a community with standards, ideals, and activities which are organized to provide the youth of Woburn with the best educational opportunities in secondary education. Graduation from high school is often referred to as the beginning of a new way of life. In a sense this is true. However, the Woburn High School pro¬ gram you pursued under guidance was directed to the end that this time of graduation would be transitional and would follow a logical sequence, rather than abruptly send you forth to meet the unknown. In the areas of oral and written communication, preparation for civic com¬ petence, and analysis of your talents and achievements you have had a com¬ mon background. Your individual needs have been met by a broad program of courses and activities. How well the school has met your needs will be reflected in the attitudes of your adult life. May this book be a lasting memorial of the activities and experiences which will assist you in becoming a more alert and responsible participant in our American democracy. HENRY D. BLAKE, Principal

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1952: Graduation night will soon be with us again, and this time for the Class of 1952. Time seems to pass very quickly. It seems only yesterday that 1 came to Woburn to serve as Superintendent of Schools, and when I made my first visit to the elementary schools, I received a very pleasant reception from all pupils and especially from the pupils in the sixth grade. These same sixth grade pupils have now grown to be young men and women, and ore complet¬ ing the second stage of their educational preparation for their place in society. With your parents and relatives I shall be very happy and proud to witness the graduation exercises this year. May I congraulate you and your devoted parents on this special occasion. With Divine Guidance and the continued counsel of your parents, I know that you will find success in whatever you decide to undertake in adult life. If I can be of any service to each of you, please do not hesitate to stop in to see me occasionally at the School Office. J. Frank Hassett Superintendent of Schools ( 10 )
