' Dedication To Miss M. Maude Morton, our Art Supervisor: It is with deep admiration and gratitude that the Class of Nineteen Hundred Fifty-One dedicates its book, The Innitou, to a teacher who has helped us in innumerable ways to achieve our scholastic goals and to assist and guide us in our endeavors and undertakings.

J. FRANK HASSETT To the Members of the Class of 1951: Congratulations to each of you as you approach graduation. I am very pleased to be afforded this opportunity to insert this brief message in your graduation yearbook. Although the world as a whole appears to be in a turmoil and our own government is operating under a national emergency, we know for certain that we who advocate democ¬ racy and freedom will ultimately be victorious. In the meantime we must support our coun¬ try during this present struggle and at the same time never lose sight of our own individual ambitions and goal in life. The record of the first half of the twentieth century is one of amazing achievement. The record of the next fifty years can be even more amazing. Whether for good or evil remains to be seen. We do know that there is more than enough of everything for everyone. The material needs and wants of all people can be adequately satisfied. Peace of mind, security, physical well-being, happiness, opportunity etc. are possible for all citizens of the world. Perhaps the year two thousand will record that great progress had been made in the previous fifty years towards attaining these goals of human happi¬ ness. Those of you who find it possible to continue your education in a day college should do so, and those who find it necessary to seek immediate employment should continue to improve their mind by taking various vocational courses offered evenings and by reading a great deal. Our public library contains much valuable and interesting reading material. May I at thi s time also congratulate your proud parents. I know how happy and pleased they are on this special occasion. In conclusion I wish each of you success and happiness in any new undertaking which you decide to pursue in September. I. Frank Hassett Superintendent of Schools

farewell OREL M. BEAN Remembrance is the sweetest flower Of all this world ' s perfuming, Memory guards it sun or shower Friendship keeps it blooming. The greatest inspiration to future achievement is to look with satisfaction on a job well done. As we review the years which Mr. Bean has spent as principal of Woburn High School, we are impressed with the meaning of these words: Friendship without familiarity, justice without favoritism, and education without indoctrination. On these premises he carried out his administration for thirty-three years. Although he is no longer head of the school, his influence will still be felt in the pattern which he has established for his successors to follow. May he enjoy his retirement and may the friendship which he has culti¬ vated ever remain with him.
