That's good and necessary. But it cannot record the spirit of our campus, all that elusive something that makes Wittenberg different from every other college and gives it a flavor all its own. Every good college should have such a distinctiveness. I would record, therefore, with over- flowing gratitude, a bit of the spirit of Wit- tenberg. The friendly greetings of students and faculty as they meet on campus. Our capacity for working together on such efforts as the Springfield Campaign. Our wholesome sense of proportion in athletics. Our un failing sense of God's presence in our cor - porate and individual life. Our loyalties and enthusiasms and willingness to tackle hard tasks. For all this I once again say my thanks to our family. What a wonderful family it is' It is good to be a part of it. Clarence C. Stoughton President. AT EVERY LEVEL All progress is measured by education, whether it be formal or attained through the school of experience. Close cooperation between industry and colleges can put education to work at the source of production. Today's industrial education can develop the ' know- how of tomorrow, thus enriching American life through hotter techniques and better products at prices the masses can afford to pay. Since 1881, when this Company put its first little 58- egg incubator on the market, we have been constantly educating the poultry producer to the advantages of more efficient, more productive equipment. Today this Company manufactures an automatic- ally controlled incubator with a total capacity exceed- ing 65,000 eggsāalmost four and one half tons. During this 71 year period, the American poultry industryā thanks to increasing know-how through accumulated knowledgeāhas developed from a no-industry status to a $4.000,000.000 annual business for poultrymen.
