EMMA SC HLYTTER We, the class of 1962, do proudly dedicate this space in our annual to Mrs. Emma Schlytter, our English teacher and librarian, who passed away January 29, 1962. She will always be remembered for her understanding of the stu- dents and untiring efforts in her work. 4 5 W J KQS To the Graduates: Congratulations on the completion of the first step in building your launching pad from which you hope to reach success. ln order to get a real boost in life, consider getting additional training in a vocational or technical school, an apprentice program, or college. A solid high school background with additional training still needs some good steering - namely sound personal values. I hope that your graduation in 1962, the year of space travel, finds you ready to start your life 's journey. Best wishes for a successful trip! W, 5. fsfiiwzt I. C. LaPl ant Principal To: Members of the Class of 1962, and Underclassmen: Congratulations, Seniors! You have reached an impor- tant goal. To all of you, best wishes in your high educa- tion or in whatever vocational preparations you plan to make! May you be successful in your chosen careers. Undergraduates, the closing college door is becoming a reality. Although it is too late for some, most of you can still improve your scholastic records. Remember that WHAT YOU ARE is important, character still counts, - perhaps now, more than at any other time in history. I hope that you have learned to study, to think critically, and to benefit from your experiences. Yours, very sincerely, 6674 E. B. Wickstrom, Superintendent WITTENBERG PUBLIC SCHOOLS 6 Zaaadafg F. While the orchestra softly played, dancers wound their way slowly across the floor, past tables and palm trees to a tropical island in the shadows of a setting sun, only to see a huge clam shell which was the scene of the coronation.
