Would you belive it's stuck? I know I put my make-up in my golf bag some place. Hey you . . . oops, it hit her! Golf Bags This year’s girls' golf team was comprised of pride in being a recognized sport in our school. Though their record didn’t show it, the team has made vast improvements in their second year of exist- ence . Veterans came into this season with more self-confi- dence , and inspired the younger team members to keep playing, even though the river attracted many of their balls. After hours of hard work the team members had the satisfaction of being more self-confident than when they started. Not another one in the river! What do ya want, a ball in the mouth? 21

John trucks on through. Who ever said running was fun never ran as fast as I did! Our Boys Have Harrier Legs This year's harriers had quite a successful sea- son. compiling a 92-16 win-loss record. Per- haps the best summation of this years season was made by Coach Voight who said - The key to this year's successes was constant improvement through dedicated practice. After starting the season with two mediocre performances, the team began to believe that they could be a winner, and after victory in the Charger Invitational it was one triumph after another, climaxing with a berth in the state tournament. Our cross country team certainly proved Charger power exists at state levels. We only have 2 1 4 miles to go after the first flag. Greg takes a bow. Martin and Mueller are doing what??!!! 20

I think I gotta go potty. Look out Bobby Riggs, here I come! Teaberry shuffle. The Witt-Birn Racketeers Confucius say: Much mus- cle wreck racket. Up until this year girls’ tennis has been pushed into the back- ground by boys’ sports, but with the famous Battle of the Sexes’' it has made forward progress. Our second season was not spent on learning how to play, but instead on constant drills and exercises. Returning members had an established poise that comes only from previous experience. A greater turn out over last year’s team shows a promising future for girls' tennis. MARGARET on the COURT 22
