More importantly, what is your image?- What do you think of HIGH SCHOOL Withrow's new image? What do you think of Withrow's new image? A place to learn and have a good time while doing so, says Shar- ogne Buckner tGr. 1D. What word or phrase describes your image? Smooth, says Sherri Latham tGr. 1w. Ask yourself these questions. What images do you come up with? Sigs, Dux and Q's helping out for Earth Day. Tiger on the loose. Social activities aren't the only things that are impore tam. Making friends with the Friends of With- TOW. Tigers in the house, tell me how you feel! Put a little step in that pep! Unification is one of our best qualitiesl Diligence is another quality we possess. Teachers, as well as students, were called upon to state their views of With- row this year. Despite the constant talking in their classes and tardiness of their stu- dents, they really have a good image of Withrow. For example, Coach jackson i 10 years; says that Withrow's image has Changed for the better, but we still have to con vey the message to the public even more. Other teachers agree. Other teachers feel that Withrow's im- age could be changed. Ms. Greene feels that she could see more intellectual curi- osity in action. All in all, the teachers said that Withrow had a positive image. Leths see about the students. Crossing the Bridge to new images. Ms. Greene: more intellectual curiosity in action. Basking in the glow of love. i i n Undefeated Tigers! Image of champions! Lt, Drew Brown chaflenges Tigers to achieve their dreams. Tigers come in all stripes Tigers Have Trojans For Homecoming Dinner: Tigers Are Forever. One day the students gladly piled into Withrow was October 21, 1988: HOMECOMINC DAY! Everyone was excited, because of the upcoming game and dance. Among the people that per- formed at the pe rally were Adrian Hall and Wiliam Moffett singing Guy's Groove Me, and Ryan Alexander, Kenneth Riley, and Vernon Stafford making their dancing debut. The biggest event, however, was the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen. And the winners are . . . Norman Rhodes and Teri Ralls! The parade began at 6:00 pm. at Peoplels junior High School. Be- cause of the poor weather, not many Withrow students attended, but there was tremendous partici- pation from the various organiza- tions that were scheduled to march. Despite the small turnout at the parade, there was a large number of Tigers on hand to watch as the football team defeatp ed the Glen Este Trojans 33 to 7. The dance was held at Kings' Hall in Roselawn from 10 pm. until 2 a.m. The music was great, the crowd was great, and everyone hada good time. At one point, ev- eryone in Kin 5' Hall did The Stomp . The ance rounded out the evening to a perfect Home- coming Day, not only for Norman Rhodes and Teri Rails, but for all of the Wlthrow Tigers. Norman Rhodes and Teri Ralls smile at the crowd t after being named Homecoming King and Queen. The Queen candidates with their Sigma Gamma ushers. Who is that striped tiger? r-u. . R14 . Marry The Lady Tiger basketball team showing team spirit. Mrs. Lane and students decorating the Homecoming float Student Council's float receives a big roar, and wins first prize. Students let loose at the dance. Who said being alone can't be fun? The drill team stepping high during halftime. T Getting ready :0 run over Glen Esre and score. Tony Fisher and jonathon Dunn leading the band. Glen Este thinks the Tigers can be stopped. Cheerleaders supporting the team and puffing pep into Ihe fans. ll f 'l f7A.lfihVn f Jllllllllll tLUVVll nggr I l Let's Be. Hogtied and Cow Whipped e It's Time For The Hayridell On the cold, autumn, evening of October 27, 1988, the Seniors of Withrow gathered at school for the Annual Hayride, which lasted from 7pm-123m at Sunny Brook Farm in Newport, K entucky. There's no better way to relax than with a drink and some K entucky Fried Chicken. The real meaning of life was discovered on the Halve ride at Sonny Brook Farm. A goodold-fashioned hoedown with M andM's, mu- sic, and Allison Courtney. 10 There were three separate hayrides and it seemed as if the outing was going to be filled with fun. As fate would have it, it be- gan to rain during the second hayride. However, this small - but terribly Wet - obstacle was easily overcome by the Seniors who were determined to enjoy themselves. A small calf who was affectionately referred to as Mooney was adopted to be the mascot of the day. Towards the end of the even- ing everyone gathered into the barn for games and dancing. Even though the rain was falling, it did not stop the annual inconquera- ble bonfire. This was the day for on-the- farm festivities, and our Seniors got it all e including the rain. ngaw-c Michael jackson isn't bad . . . I'm badllf' Maw and Paw Kettle watch out!!! ' COMPUTER ERROR KEEPS WITHROW OUT OF PLA YOFFS! Top: The Withrow Tiger Varsity Football Team Above: Defense on hot pursuit of Anderson. Tigers ready to attack. 50 70 and 0, it's the truth! There was no use of steroids or black market gambling to promote such a record. This is the result of an excellent coaching staff and the great effort of Withrow High School's football team. The word team must be emphasized be- cause it was the best group effort shown by Withrow in years. Thanks to all forces, we were able to crush C.A.P.E., appear on televi- sion and in the newspaper on many occasions, and set an exam- ple for all to try to follow. Even when the computer failed to give us the necessary number of points to put us in the playoffs, we stayed together as a team. So when the desire to lead the school hits you, go to room 424 and see Ms. Bard and sign up for the yearbook. Being on the yearbook requires and demands hard, dedicated, attentive, sensitive and inquiring Individ- uals, individuals who are willing to sacrifice their sleep and time to produce a yearbook. This individual is essential in the making of High School Memories. I would like to thank my best friend Tiffany johnson for sharing the past two working years with me. There couldn't have been a better twosome. Thanks, especially to Ms. Patricia Bard who made it possible for Tiffan y and me to work on the yearbook. Also my friends, the Editorial Board, for sticking with Tiffany and me through the rough and sweet times, Steve for sticking in art pictures, Roz for cleaning, Rosellen for her statemen ts, and C urtis for singing. And last, but not unappreciated, the Yearbook Staff. I thank all the workers for all their help and dedication. The book would have been incomplete without you. Best wishes, gm w A Wmhr I would like to thank the Editorial Staff for working on the Yearbook for the past two years. Without your help, Idonltknow what I would have done. The editorialboardspenta lot of time listening to me andAnna ar- gue about where to put this and where to put that, but through it all we still came through with a good yearbook. I would also like to thank Co-editor Anna Hutchinson, my best friend for working with me. Anna, even though we argued about which ideas to use, we still remained best friends. Someone once told Anna and me that best friends couldn't work together. Well, we proved them wrong. To Ms. Bard, Anna and I appreciate your help in planning the yearbook. Good luck next year. I would like to say that the yearbook has been a challenge and experience for me and it! had the chance, I would do it all over again. Best wishes, 148 99999999 88888888
