Miss Kemme reviewed phonetics as pupils correct their homework. Latin students enacted a parody 0n Julius Caesar's death. To lose an American accent and gain a Spanish onc, students listened to and imitated native speakers.

WHAT IS NEW IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE? Accent on Communication New in the foreign language department was the use of Audio-Lingual teaching. This method familiarized the pupils with the sound of the language before the text books were introduced in the second six-weekst period. Pupils learn sene tence patterns more readily if sound is the only sense involved in the learning procedure. 17
