BECK, VIRGINIA 0.: A8,, B.E.eU.C.; Dept. Chairman Whose words these are, I better know for upon this test I now must show. These lines were spoken by many of the English students here at Withrow. Eager-to-Ieorn citizens of Tigertown acquired the knowledge of poems and their authors and the personalities of the characters in plays and novels. Twenty-eight teachers composed the department which lead students to a better understanding of this universal language The performers from Miss Rosenberger's dromotics classes used this inheritance to portray human emotions while the girls of Scribblers discussed both new and classic liter- ary works. This knowledge was also used by the librarians who helped dis- tressed students find necessary infor- mation. We have learned from the post to appreciate these treasures. But we have many items yet to learn and miles to go before we are through. LITERATURE STIMULATES WITHROWITES TO USE THEIR IMAGINATION AND RESOURCEFULNESS TO PEER INTO THE DEPTHS OF CLASSIC ADVENTURES, POEMS, PLAYS. 25 ACKERMANN, M. R.: BJNeUt C.
