ANNUAL BUSINESS STAFF The jingle of money, the rustle of papers, the clicking of a typewriter, the rumble of opening and ClOsing cabinets, and the punching of an adding machine are the sights and sounds of Room 161, the home of the annual business stafft To produce a successful annual, a strong business section is as essential as any other, It performs such diverse fiscal tasks as obtaining sponsors, raising extra funds, selling subscrip- tions, balancing the budget, and filing 2111 records. At the yearts beginning, the two boys on the staff, Bill Good and Roger Crain, began searching city-Wide for prospective spon- sors 0f the ,64 an'nual. Since advertisements supply a chief source of revenue, as large a number as possible Was needed. Each year, to compensate for the loss taken on each book sold, the annual operates three major fund raising projects- the annual dance, the sale of Withrow picture postcards and the Sale of Minstrel Tryout tickets. The business staff, under the direction of Editor Judy Smith and Assistant Editor Betty Carroll, coordinates the latter two. However, the main job of this staff is the sale of annual subscriptions through the homeroom representatives. 23 6: WT. ' W; 5, ???W JUDY SMITH, Bmincxx Editor STApthruml: B. Carroll, L, Campbell.
