ANDERSON OWENS ul-:Ov Tigertown would not be complete without a capable administrative body. Our junior high pupils were under the able leadership of Mr. McElhaney who saw to it that bewildered and confused students quickly became enioyably acquainted with their new sur- roundings. Even teachers had problems. Mr. Buxton was always there to lend a hand in straightening out any complications which arose, also, under his guid- ance were the pupils in the main building. Senior high assistant principal, Mr. Owens, served in various capacities, Along with the duties and responsibilities of keeping disciplinary and attendance records in the senior high, he served well as an adviser to the senior class and Sigma Gamma. Our beloved principal, Mr. Joseph C. Ayer, assumed the duties of executive of our town with a quietly pleasant attitude. In this, his second year as head of Withrow, Mr. Ayer's actions substantiated the beliefs of com- munity leaders in his ability properly and adequately to govern Withrow High School. On his, as well as on all of the assistant principals' shoulders rested the reputation of our school. From morning till night these men worked side by side harmoniously inter- twining the parade of activities and duties necessary to run a school as wonderfully huge and complex as ours. To them we owe gratitude and a pledge to work to the best of our abilities toward keeping Withrow in its honored place. To you Sirsi Mr. Joseph C. Ayer, Mr. Anderson Owens, Mr. Harold Buxton, and Mr. William McElhaney we pay tribute for the efficient work you have done, here in Tigertown.
