First Raw: MR. ANDERSON, teacher of bookkeeping, no longer has an excuse for visiting Florida-the excuse is now Mrs. Anderson. MISS ANSHUTZ-A delight in motoring along country roads and a deep interest in the drama provide this English teacher's recreation when day is done. MR. ATHERTON-When finished with his physics classes, Mr. Atherton, sponsor of the Camera Club, devotes himself to photography. MISS ATKINS-One of those teachers of English who believe that there is no royal road to mastery of her subiect-hence, woe to those who would slight it. Second Row: MISS BAEHR-By, songs, talks, and stories, this cheer- ful French teacher adds variety and color to her classes. MISS BAHR- Now let's get busy, is a familiar re- quest to her commercial classes and Tower News Business Staff. MR. BAKER-One of those rare teachers of chemistry who can smile benevolently and place a zero in the grade book at one and the same time. MRS. BAKER-A bridge game or the Reds' opening game satisfy Mrs. Baker when she is not teaching mathematics in the iunior high. Third Row: MISS BERESKIN, iunior high teacher, enjoys travel- ing and taking pictures, particularly in Mexico. MISS BISCEGLIA-This commercial teacher is especial- ly enthusiastic about encouraging the sale of defense stamps and the collection of books for soldiers. MISS BLASBERG, one of our energetic gym teachers, enioys detective stories and dancing, and has fun with her movie camera. MISS BRAUNECKER-Miss Braunecker introduces Eng- lish grammar lessons with the encouraging remark, Don't expect a thrill a minutel Fourth Row: MR. BRUBAKER-A splintering crash in the chemistry lab-then his diabolical comment, Ah, business is picking up! MISS CAMPBELL teaches English, when traveling she prefers to go by air. MR. CARLSON-When one can not find Mr. Carlson in the woodworking shop making cabinets or toys, it is a sure bet he will be fishing or hunting. MISS CAVEMAN wishes she could get a rise from her history classes as easily as she does from her garden. Fifth Row: MISS CAVENDISH--To attend every performance at the Cox Theater and to keep her little farm in West Virginia going successfully are the extra-curricular activities of this history teacher. MISS COE-Making history and geography pertinent to modern life is a task easily accomplished by Miss Coe. MISS CONNER-Miss Conner, supervisor of student math teachers, is a recognized authority on antique glassware and furniture. MISS COOK is an energetic art teacher with a love of outdoors and an unpredictable classroom technique. Sixth Row: MISS CORCORAN teaches typing and stenography. MR. DAVIDSON-Hunting and fishing run a close sec- ond to science in the eyes of this iunior high teacher. MISS DlCKINSON'S sundry interests include teaching history and Latin, keeping house, traveling, and read- ing. MISS DORNETTE-Bugs, butterflies, and birds comprise the main interests of this iunior high school science teacher.
