He is buoyantly enthusiastic about everything from a football game to a new project in his art class. His nose precedes his feet by at least a foot as he elbows his way through the crowd of less-hurried upper-classmen. This Freshman grows increasingly bolder as the weeks go by, and as he passes us in the hall or on the street, he leers at our assumed dignity as we attempt to squelch him. Neverthe- less, as we near graduation, we look at him rather wistfully and recall, with a sudden nos- talgia, our first rather uncertain pages, finger-marked, and with many erasures-the record of our Freshman Year. Just such tantalizing bits of harmony made on- lookers realize that they desired very much to hear the Seventeenth Annual Concert. Those who were fortunate enough to attend heard an undeniably delightful performance. Members of the Boys' Glee Club, equipped with exceptionally good voices, attracted the attention of the critics by the excellent execution of their part of the program. Miss Tatman and Mr. Surdo have labored together indefatiguably to obtain the desired results and have been re- warded with overwhelming success. Through their work many pupils will leave Withrow this spring with pleasant memories of concert work and with a greatly en1'iched knowledge of part singing. 108 AV , IINIIEII THE IIIIIEIITIIIN IIF MII. L .1 WE ARE RRCDUD T0 I-IAVE BEEN PRINTERS CDF WITI-IRQW, 1936 URING the past two decades we have printed scores of yearbooks for colleges and high schools over the country every year. We find great ioy in the finished product, and each individual book is to us something we may look back on with pride for our part in its planning and production. To the editor and staff members, of course, go the credit for individual ideas and composition of the book, to the photographer credit for the fine pictures and to the engraver credit for the halftones and etchings which made possible the reproduction of the pictures, but we hope that we have been at least partially responsible for the good printing which always emphasizes the quality of any fine book.
