As we wenT around The counTry in our super-ieT plane, l sTopped To waTch The Barnum and Bailey Circus and whom should l see operaTing The merry-go-round buT EvereTT Evans. ATTer leaving high school he wenT on To CenTral WashingTon College oT EducaTion To geT a Teacher's degree, buT found ThaT operaTing a merry-go-round was much more proTiTable' Than The Teaching profession. V lT was here ThaT l, Charlene Rhodes RoclceTeller, received an urgenT Telegram Trom m-y husband begging me To come home because our seven maids and Two buTlers had quiT and my seven wild, uncared Tor children were running loose: and There was no one There To care Tor our mansion. l immediaTely boarded The nexT Train Tor my home in Minneapolis and whom should l see as conducTor, buT Larry,Cohea. While visiTing wiTh Larry l learned ThaT aTTer graduaTing he had Talcen a iob on The washouT Traclc, and being very successful had worlced his way up To conducTor. l-le informed me ThaT his wiTe, RuTh Ann. and Their children are very happy living in The small and b,eauTiTul Town of Avery. WashingTon. U . As l was approaching a Taxi sTand in Minneapolis I noTiced a posTer adverTising The Minneapolis Lalcers, and who should be The sTar. buT my mosT able assisTanT, Tom Rayburn. ATTer graduaTing Trom high school Tom enTered WhiTman College where he sTarred as a Torward on Their baslceTball Team. The high lighls of our Freshman year were Freshman lnilialion, The Chrislmas Program, lhe Talenl Show, and a lrip ro Mullnomah Falls. ln our Sophomore year four of us re-enlered Wishram High School. W'e enjoyed iniliafing lhe new Freshmen. There wasn'+ any oulslanding evenfs lhal year. In our Junior year ihree oi us relurned, also lwo new sludenls, Char- lene Rhodes and Larry Cohea. Oufslanding evenls of our Junior year wereilhe Harvesl Dance. 'rhe Sweeihearl Ball, and l'he Carnival, ln The fall of l953 lhe five of us relurned for our lasl year.
