We are leaving behind the endless hours Of preparing for this graduation day. There will be no more passing notes in class, No more football; no more basketball; No more volleyball; no more track and field. We have finally arrived Standing here before hundreds of people With shaking knees and smiling faces. Now we can say to ourselves, We'll made it at last!” Even though we are leaving this place To spread our wings and fly, The memories will echo for us Through these halls Forever. These past years are mostly all I can think of. And through these years I hold close to me many memories. . . There were limes when I felt It wasn’t possible For one person to possess so much Joy at one time! And times too. when I felt no one person could hold so Much sorrow. Hut I found people who cared. People whom have Learned to love freely, and in turn they loved me for Whom I was. There were wise people who taught me to enjoy youth And how to achieve success: and through their caring I grew. And now. stored up with knowledge and love I must leave. These years are at an end. Ha(f paralyzed by fear and only stimulated by the Thrill oj adventure. I walked through these doors, and Now I find I am walking out the same way. I hate beginnings and ends, for both arc surrounded With fears. Yet, here I am we more — closing another door. And with the confidence from those I love. Peeking through the crack oj still another — labeled future feel like a fledging ready to fly. First, watching and learning: Then, conquering the fears of falling: And finally, soaring into the sky Discovering I can go where I want, if try— Observing the storms ahead, but also the clear blue skies And only holding onto The memories I've saved. . . . —Patty Kostcchka THE WISCONSIN TIMES THE WISCONSIN SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF and EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED Delavan, Wisconsin 53115 VOLUME CV SENIOR NUMBER 6 JUNE, 1984 USPS 688-840 The Wisconsin Times is published six times per school year the first of November.
